Tour of my 1987 Knight Rider Kitt Replica Car - Pontiac Trans-am

This is a tour of my 1987 knight rider kitt replica. It took me just under a year and a half to get it to this level after buying the car in May 2019. The car itself is a 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans-am 5 speed manual with a t-bar roof. i bought the car for £15,000 and spent around £17,000 over a year and a half getting it converted into a great looking kitt replica.

The costs includes mechanical repairs and upgrades, full body respray, new seals, rubbers, new nose, new rear bumper, new t-bar section, new hood, new tyres, new carpets, new seat upholstery, new upper and lower console, all interior plastics have been sprayed tan colour and other sections covered in tan foam material. Kitt dashboard has been reburbished with lots of new parts. Brand new scanner from Knight scanners. New fog lights and whole new rear section including lights and blackout. I also purchased new kitt car matts and sill decals too.

The car is looking pretty good now but I still have more to do which I will do over the next couple of years.

That's pretty nice!!! I love that TPI engine too! I've always wanted to build one of these. But with a twist. I wanted to make the interior more modern. With big touch screens, ect. But that's a beautiful car!

Awesome car!! Super nice! Being an '87 TPI would generally be considered an improvement over the engines offered during '82-84. Being a 5-speed would make it more fun!

If you do change your mind and get the ground effects just get the back ones it never had the front one except in the opening one of the 10 cars that they used had it but most of cars do not have the front ones

I just inherited a 1982 firebird my uncle had started to turn it into kit and now I've been tasked to finish it off since I'm the other car guy in the family I have not done much to it other than look over it to see what all I have to do since I've been busy recently and from what I can tell I need to re wire the entire car nothing has power to it not even the fuse box do you think it would be wise to change all of the wires or go threw each one and check it and only change the bad ones?

An absolute beauty!!!! I've recently had one imported from USA that'll be making its way up to Scotland. How did you get around not having to have a propper steering wheel?

If I were you I would replace the back glass and the tires. The real kitt had the 15inch wheels and there were no defrost lines on the back glass.

Apart from those 2 things everything else looks just flawless, perfect & screen
