I knew the Lewis family growing up. His father was a teacher then athletic director/administrator in our high school. I owe Mr. Lewis a huge debt of gratitude for his altruism when our community suffered a loss of a close friend. Btw, Michael would act like that towards us when he the cajones to play pick up games against juniors and seniors in high school during summer gym hours.

My guess is that at some point earlier in his life Michael Lewis had determined that he wasn't going to be bullied by anybody. And that meant not by the great Coach Knight, either.

Bobby Knight was a great coach, but a bully. Only one way to deal with a bully. Lewis did that. Good for him

Could have been remembered as the greatest coach in college b-ball history had he ever tried to control his anger. Instead, people remember him for tossing chairs and assaulting players.
