I have so many areas affected it's ridiculous and family keeps expecting normalcy even after 9yrs since diagnoses. I get zero temp control, can't recall nouns forget entire conversations, don't always encode, moodd, etc. But I get yelled at for things I'm still trying to learn to cope through. It causes me much heartbreak and those closest to me are the worst at, accusing me of things, many I either can't catch, control or recall. Sad it's my loved one's still expecting me to be the preinjured me and mine's CBTI

I suffered a server TBI as well as 44 broken bones due to a drunk driver...  My out look was grim, i have been to hell's i never knew existed.  Some days i find myself back there but in the words of Hippocrates, "No brain Injury is to severe to despair or to minor to dismiss." I just repeat that to myself and stay away from any meds,   Again like the man said "let food be thy medicine."  Its the most complicated system in the known universe.. Give it time I am 2.5 years out of my coma, , , It is getting better..  Never stop believing..

Thank you for posting this. It is by far the most simply stated, well produced video I have found to help people understand how my injury effects me instead of trying to fumble my way through explaining. I always forget lots of symptoms and this video has been a blessing to my family and I. Again thanks so much.

I was on a prescription benzodiaepine(Klonopin) took it for about 20 years and my doctor told me I could just stop taking it. The shock to my system really tore my brain apart-3 years off of it from cold turkey and I'm still healing from the brain injury, which affected the entire brain function.

Please go here to read more about my my families experience! If anyone you know has an impact to the head always make sure you have it checked out straight away. Symptoms may only appear after a while and then it may be too late!

Thanks for the excellent presentation of how brain injuries can affect different brain regions, or lobes. This breaks it down into information that makes it easier to understand.

I want to thank you for explaining how the brain 🧠 functions. I had Meningitis at four months and I still have Hydrocephalus. I am now in my very late 60's and I am only now learning so much more than even my Mother knew. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge.

I made a fairly well recover and had to go to rehab for a short time but watching this helped me understand what part of my brain was injured. i sure did have a guardian angel watching over me and I also had some amazing family an friends who helped me recover and got me back on my feet in no time

Thank you for sharing, great video :-) I am an old TBI survivor, 36years ago. As a nurse I am always 'observing' changes. Am I getting old, is my body giving up, my brain deteriorating because of the accident? Can be a scary 'gift of life' sometimes, and I do see it as a gift as it has made me look into many things I wouldnt have without the TBI

We're glad you've been able to recover so well with the help of your family and friends. Loved ones are very important in the healing process.

Parietal injury here. The main issue with that injury for me is spatial. It's like being underwater and not knowing up from down. Have lost most of my peripheral vision. I can't climb a ladder or descend stairs with confidence.

So true. Brain injuries are misunderstood - and sadly, even in the medical community. We wish you all the best in your recovery.

Thank you for the positive feedback, we're glad you found our video helpful. I'm sorry to hear about your son. TBI's are unfortunately a very common problem for our soldiers, so it's important that we all gain a better understanding of them.

Excellent video. The explanation of how the brain works, lobe by lobe is invaluable information. Thankyou!

Thank you for doing this video and explaining the different areas of the brain and what they operate. You seem to care more about this more than my attorney did. I was hit by a pick up truck/ Michigan No fault insurance. His concern was all the paperwork and interrogatories. Just the thing I struggled with the most: organizing, sequencing, etc. I appreciate that you care and are aware.
