In this video I build a 3D LEGO Table that can make SATISFYING WAVES. And if you put something underneath, it creates in on the top. Pretty cool!

the sound of the rods going back down is so nice. put a marble on the top and watch it roll around

If he makes the table he was talking about, the resolution of the objects placed underneath would increase a lot. I think that would be sick

This is so cool you should definitely make a table with like an acrylic panel on top so like you can eat and do stuff on it but also see the wave and make like a pattern generator that randomize the waves and all that’ll be so sick

That is next level amazing! I've dreamt of making something like this, but you did a much, much better job that I could ever have done. Simply awesome. : )

Imagine a room with a floor like this for VR experiences. A floor that instantly changes to match the landscape or objects in the VR world. The rods might be built with a soft material, inflatable maybe. Wouldn't that be awesome?

This pains me because I had this same idea a year ago but never had the time or money or supplies to do it. Sadly I still don’t, but I do have ways to improve it. You could use a single motor in the middle and spin it with a paddle on the end to move the pins. You could also add roller/sliders on the sides (like a cnc machine) and have dual motors powering that and a single motor on the point of connection to move the pins. Hopefully I can work on my own version in the future. Thanks for beating me to it and giving me more inspiration!

A table like this with waves that stop at the objects placed on top would be awesome 🤩

A full table that waves like that one would be by far the coolest thing I've ever seen. And good job on the one you just made, it's EPEC.

Little tip from my work when you are doing this. Don't insert them one at a time. Grab a bunch and move them as a pack over the surface while holdem them only lightly. That generally goes faster.

Dude the sound of the pegs falling back into place on satisfying mode is unparalleled. Almost the perfect "building" sound from any of the lego games.

I remember seeing something like this in the Bionicle 2 movie in the arena, so this really makes me happy to see.

You are hereby designated as ubergeek of the year which of course is a good thing. Truly innovative implementation of Lego hardware into a dynamic structure that appears to have limitless possibilities. Your upgrade to the large system will truly amaze!! Thanks for this post.

I would recommend adding half bushes to the ends of all the axles to make sure they don't fall when moving the table around. However I know they that'll take forever as well 😅

This is such a cool idea. Would love to see a V2 of this with twice as much surface area and height

This guy should be WAY more popular like, 10 HOURS he worked on this video and probably even more for the editing. What a legend

Another approach for the "satisfying mode" would be to setup a few wheels on a spirograph/orrery-style mechanism, so they move around on various complex epicycles (just be sure it's geared such that the arms never collide); you can even add some pistons driven by gears to change the height of wheels by some amount that doesn't repeat at the same point by many turns.
