Starfield Just Gave Xbox A Massive Boost

Starfield had an impressive showcase that has really worked to boost the Xbox brand as well as interested in Bethesda coming off of Fallout 76.

Never been of a fan of “Dreamcast guy”, even though I did watch some of his videos every once in a while. But his reaction to starfield gameplay just completely sealed the deal, dude has lost all his marbles.

The ship boarding and stealing was my wow moment. Really want a massive fleet of ships and a ton of bases, I hope there are systems that make it worthwhile to build up a huge network of ships and bases. Fallout 4 missed the mark with the settlement building. Not a ton of benefit to having a bunch other then artillery and more help if you used a flair. Will have to wait and see.

You can pick to land anywhere on the planet. There are predetermined spots of interest like cities. However during the showcase they showed and said you can just pick a spot and land there.

Honestly, the fact that the gameplay did look a little tough at some parts was kind of positive for me. It didn’t feel like we were watching curated gameplay like Sony and Ubisoft love to do it looked like what we’re going to see when we play ourselves (at least mostly).

In the showcase they show someone place a marker on the planet that provides the "land" prompt before selecting a larger POI/city to land in

Pretty much 95% of that people that I've seen complained about 30 fps for Starfield are people that do not play on console. Most people that I know play on Xbox either don't care or thinks it kinda sucks but doesn't effect them wanting the game.

Tbh I thought TOTK would be GOTY since let’s be real it’s not only extremely good but it’s innovating so much and has so many cool ideas. Starfield to me is looking like the only actual competitor here.

Ngl Spawn I'm very excited for Starfield. Watch that deep dive in 4k and just take the time to pause at some planetary gameplay. The game has what looks like infinite draw distance and volumetric fog that goes as far as the eye can see with that draw distance. The lighting is also looking like it's calculated in real time on the entire planet as the day and night cycle changes endlessly.

Also, think about how much procedural and random generation this game will have, and how every item on every planet, and in space between the planets will be tracked in your save file since you can pick up and move anything in the game.

Now add how dynamic the game content can be. How everything is procedurally generated in real time and quests can also dynamically pop up at any time. I tell you this is madness lol.

This is like sorcery at this point in time. I'm not surprised this is 30 on consoles. A bummer, but thankfully I'm on PC.
