8:23 actually false: grabbing a snake by the back of the head when trying to keep it from biting you is only supposed to be done when it's venomous and by a professional that needs to do something with it's face (like for medical reasons or for milking it's venom) otherwise use a snake-hook when dealing with a venomous to keep it's head away from you. her picking up a non-venomous rat snake like that is fine really, she's holding it in a way that it won't bite her even if it wanted to (it won't though, rat snakes are chill) and is only holding it like that for a short amount of time to move it elsewhere.

8:55 I'm pretty sure she grabbed it right cause (from what snake discovery has taught me) your supposed to grab them by the thickest part of their body and if you do it without hesitation and just hold them they'll realize you aren't eating them and the head grab I think is for poisonous ones strictly.
