9:39 If you noticed, you get a buff when you deflect a Ki Super Attack. That icon that says (3) underneath your ki gauge is a buff that will make you charge up faster, and it goes up to 6. You can get 3 from deflecting ON THE GROUND, and another 3 from deflecting IN THE AIR. Try it in training.

Also if you want to deflect beams easier (on standard), hold Circle and press Triangle right before the beam hits you.
