I know this question is off topic but it is a problem that is growing. I like to know what Michael thinks about the trads on Return to Tradition about abandoning the Pope and Holy Catholic Church and start another underground church like maybe someone like Archbishop Vigano leading them. This sounds very wrong to me. It sounds a lot like what Martin Luther. I believe the Pope is making a huge mess of everything but we have had many bad Popes before. It is not a good idea to break the Church apart and start new churches that is a Martin Luther approach to pr 7:15 oblems in the Church.

Censorship can result in rebellious curiosity. Porn should be condemned, minimized, and diminished.
Education on the porn should be upon the dangers, folly, and the negative results of its indulgence.

Censorship of mainstream media, turn it off. Teach your children about education system that censors free thought. Etc. Why does the Pope promote FR Jimmy and not censor his sinfulness promoting sin?

God gave man the right to sin.

It’s the foundation of free will.

We have to differentiate between sin and crime.

Crime should be banned, because society would not survive if it’s tolerated.

Examples of crime are murder and stealing.

Sin is a private matter, and therefore should not be regulated by the government.

Examples of sins are sexual conduct between consenting people.

I support free speech if Christians owned the media. Why censor things that never are heard. Age verification, a nice large banner stating the truth, links to positive sources etc etc. That's not censorship but providing the full picture.

So I am baptized Lutheran and went to Church as a kid but left the Church in my teens. I'm currently getting back into my faith, and am interested in Catholicism mainly because of my Mom having been a devout Catholic, but for other reasons as well. I lived a very secular life for a long time, and I'm just trying to fully understand the Catholic view on masturbation. Is it a sin for an adult to masturbate no matter what even if you're not looking at any visually stimulating material? Or is it just a sin when looking at photos of women whether they're pornographic or not? I've been abstaining since I'm unclear on the matter, but I've also been fortunate to not have the urge recently, so I'm just wondering if the urge does come up, is it still sinful if I'm not using any material or fantasizing about someone? I'm having hard time finding the Catholic perspective on this issue online, and since there are so many different denominations of Christianity they tend to agree and disagree and various issues.
