I got stuck on level 9 because I stumbled on an even more cursed behavior that can happen when a large snake hits the edge of a portal rather than entering it directly. Turns out that isn't used in any of the puzzles!

I think the weirdness just comes with the fact that the game looks tile based, but never truly is. Squishcraft does, going off of fractions and fractals, this with the angles and scales

Icely, you should try “Treasure Mole: Winter Vacation” game. Hard levels here were impossible to complete. I would like to see if you can finish them :)
