My nephew is a lot like Abbie except verbal. We have absolutely no idea how but he taught himself to read at the age of 2. Not just 3 letter words words.
We wrote random words down on index cards to test to see if he was really reading or it was just a fluke. He knew every single word.
9 years later it's still a complete mystery as to the "how".
These kiddos are truly amazing with what they actually know.
