I really hate this trend of having no physical buttons for the climate controls.

This car embodies everything that is wrong with modern cars—overdesigned on the outside, multiple screens, no physical buttons for climate control, touch buttons on the steering wheel (I know they are clicky, but they are not normal, individual buttons), a lot of shiny, cheap plastics, and an almost laughable price.

I would never have guessed that there would be a time when a used previous-generation car would be more desirable than the new one. I just hope that after VW's change of heart, Audi will follow suit, and the facelifted S5 in a couple of years will be worth considering.

Note the rubber seals where the bonnet lands on. Modern cars have engine compartments that are almost completely sealed off the elements nowadays. They keep your engine bay as clean as it came from the factory.

Thanks Matt, another great vid. My S5 Convertible is now 15 Years old (I've had it for 4 Years) & it still does everything I want it to do. It's practical, fairly quick & doesn't shout "look at me!". It could quite easily be a A5 Convertible aside from the small S5 badges & the 4 exhaust pipes. My Wife & I went down to Cornwall a couple of years ago, set off at 3 AM, the weather was warm so we decided to drop-the-top. After 30 mins, My wife was car....All the best....

Great review Matt. It seems the S5 is no better or worse than the competition with all the bings and bongs and the mucky finger prints on the screens. I’m not sure why Audi fitted it with an Allegro square steering wheel but otherwise it’s a cracking car 👍

The B9 S4/S5 Audi maintains the best generation A4/A5, no competition. Best interior, quality, performance, fuel economy, exhaust note, the list goes on and on.
