The NEW CX-5 Turbo is here and Mazda has brought some changes for 2022. On the outside you will notice a refreshed front fascia, headlights, wheels and grill. On the inside there is updated materials and seating. Under the hood is a 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 250HP & is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. My wife's 2012 Mazda5 is approaching 230k miles and still going strong. Only spent $350 in unscheduled repairs during the first 200k.

Mazda gets the front perfectly every time. I also like their overall quality of workmanship and their headlights, they are very good at night!

This is still the front runner for my next vehicle. Nothing over the top, just a classic design. Thanks to you both for the review. 👍

People need to understand the value for this mid size truck is unmatched. All these manufacturers are cheaping out with a CVT and this is the only one in this segment that has a true automatic transmission.Im grabbing a 2023 in the near future

Raiti’s Rides is one of the best reviewers out there! I love your energy and sense of humor on reviews!
Your review of the 2021 Trailblazer last year sealed the deal for me when I was considering getting one.
In fact, I think I knew more about the car than the salesman did! 😂😂😂
Thanks to Raiti’s Rides! 🙏 ❤🚗

Drove this as a rental last week, not the turbo but full spec auto. A really good car to drive. Very high end feeling in the cockpit.

Funny how there is a similar video by a guy working at a Nissan dealer that also pits up a CX-5 against a Rogue, and there, the Rogue comes out ahead.
Puttng out some facts that's less confirmation bias driven:
- Rogue has much better rear leg space and trunk space making this more family friendly.
- Rogue's CVT is no longer a concern because the CVT is different and much better than before.
- Rogue's Variable Compression Turbo manages to create more more than the non-turbo (either CX-5 or prior 2.5L Rogue), and uses less fuel so long as you remain light footed.
- Rogue absorbs road imperfections smoother and creates for a more relaxing ride.
- CX-5 with the turbo has incredible acceleration that nothing else in the segment can match.
- CX-5 does not have the understeer that the Rogue has, and provides second to none handling - you feel one with the road and you can gauge how far you can push winding roads whereas with the Rogue you better just go with the flow and don't get too perky.
- While the Rogue premium package provides second to none seating- feeling wise - the leather in the CX-5 is incredible high quality and probably more durable.
- Infotainment works better on the Rogue. But once the music plays and you see the damn map on the screen, who cares...

Anyway. The biases a sales guy comes up wiht is always funny. Omits the much better fuel economy of the Rogue. Instead fast forwards to showing how powerful the CX-5 is. And goes "ewww" with mentioning the CVT, while in fact CVT, actaully really works quite QUITE well ! FAR better than ANYONE criticizing it here!

I will forever be in love with the products Mazda puts out. They sure do know how to grab your attention and keep it and not only that but they make their vehicles nice.

Definitely one of the better choices in this segment and a wiser selection than the Rogue. Minor misses for me…no fog lamps, no rear spoiler and the unintuitive infotainment system.

Got my ‘22 Turbo 10000km ago at the end of March. This is an amazingly well built SUV. No issues whatsoever in this quick comfortable and great driving Mazda.

Hey Joe! Great video as usual…and very timely. I just purchased this exact vehicle today. My wife and I are definitely huge Mazda fans. We have owned a Mazda6 Signature, a CX-9 GT and now own our 6th Miata, a ‘21 RF Club BBR in Polymetal grey. This Snowflake white pearl CX will definitely compliment the Miata as they sit beside each other in the garage. We pick her up tomorrow. Thanks for not only providing great information during your reviews but also entertaining us while doing it.

I have come to the conclusion that the non touch screen infotainment system works well for my OCD. It's bad enough to keep the dash clean-at least I won't have fingerprints all over the infotainment screen. I've actually adapted quite well to it, and the volume knob down below is probably the best ergonomic feature of the whole system.

I got a 2020 cx5 non turbo and I love it. Definitely the best car I’ve ever owned. It’s also fun to drive. Corners great. To be fair my previous cars weren’t all that good from a ford tempo to a S10 blazer to a Honda Fit to this Mazda. I’ve never been so satisfied with a car than I am with my CX-5

I own a Mazda carbon edition and I can only say it is unbeatable on the market in terms of price, performance, and luxury style.

Hopefully they make a pano roof on the CX5. I'm waiting on the Preferred Package. Now that the production is ramping up now there is a chip shortage. No heated seats, no power lift gate, no bose stereo. Think I'll wait awhile.

Even though this generation has been around 6 years and doesn’t look dated. It still looks good. My pick is the cx5 turbo. You get a potent engine and they got a awesome awd system and handles pretty well for a suv. This doesn’t have a cvt like the rogue and we know Nissans cvts are junk the worst part of their cars
