Someday we should collaborate if we meet up in person, actually these songs you provided had helped me take out my temptation and sang to Jesus that I need him. When I give my problems It becomes a worship session he will touch heart and bring peace among us. Thanks Matt.

As much as I'd love for this to be true. It isn't. You still have an open D string, in your example that isn't changing like the other fretted strings. What you're showing is technically going from D -> D#/D -> E/D and so forth, since your D root/bass note is not changing.

Now if you were to capo let's say 1st fret, and play a normal D chord in reference to capo position, you would in fact be playing a D# chord because all fretted/open strings are being raised a half-step.

But thanks anyways.

so could you play the normal chords with a loop pedal and then play the d chord over top if you don't have another guitar player?

Matt when I play that cadd9 it doesn’t sound as nice as a regular c. It just has a different sound. Why is that ? I am playing it correct just doesn’t sound right to my ears. Thanks buddy.
