String Hypotheses, or not even that actually, since there are not even known ways to apply the scientific method to them...
I guess String speculations would also be wrong, since there are mathematical and theoretical substance behind the 'theories'. What the hell to call them. I have no idea. Since serious (at least many) scientists choose to call something a theoy that really isn't, I guess the usage of the word theory has changed - in this field....
