Probably my favorite Doors song. Jim Morrison started out as a poet, and many consider him to have been more of a performance artist than a singer. Their version of "The End" live is an amazing experience.

One of the greatest songs ever written. The rumor was that Jim wrote this song after observing the twinkling lights of platform holly off Isla Vista beach in California. I was there a few months ago, and it's not surprising to me that Jim was inspired there. Beautiful.
