I worked around nurses and EMTs. They are not appreciated and paid nearly enough.

So many truths in this interview. Healthcare workers need the rest, power and waterworks workers need to be remembered and healthcare should be for all.

Having some states lock down and some states not lock down is like having a peeing section in a swimming pool.

My parents and grandparents are long dead. I’m sitting at home because so many others can’t. Universal healthcare was conceived in many ways after the pandemic of 1918. Too many people forget that humanity has a history of pandemic.

%70 of the world’s workforce is furloughed or unemployed... and yet the shelves are still stocked, the electricity is still on. So how is it that everyone has to work 40+ hours a week for subsistence wages? The global productivity is so high that a UBI and a 20 hour week is easily doable. It’s just the %1 for whom everything is not enough.

It isn't difficult to understand from a clinical point of view. Those without a conscience never think of others, unless it is beneficial to them.

In 1989 I had only been working in NY for a month when it dawned on me how the system actually ran in the US ... that it was dependent on an employer and divided into “plans”, and involved co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles, etc., I felt very vulnerable and insecure. The population didn’t have equality

My safety vanished and my whole well-being became dependent on my husband’s job, and although that should have given me security, it actually did the opposite mentally. I heavily resented it. For the first time in my life I didn’t feel “free”.

No one cares about being called a "hero". Let's just make sure that every one has a living wage and a National Health Care system.

That is exactly right, our Governors are the ones that are pulling us out of this, not our President. Our Governors and each of us together. (I live on the Missouri Illinois border)

Someone mentioned that he/she didn't know what day it was...I said "enjoy it, appreciate it" b/c there's a lot of people who definitely HAVE to know what day and time it is b/c they are risking their lives exhausted working full time or more doing essential services.

YASSS!!! When this is over, us "essential" people need a damn vacation!

i'm an EMT and I don't agree with the lockdowns anymore. we have empty beds and a lot of nurses furloughed, believe it or not. i'm flattered by all the praise but I guarantee most health care professionals feel the same why I do, we signed up for this and this is what we have always done. car wrecks, suicides, heart attacks, and everything else you name it. everyone is essential and it's time to get the economy opened up. i am being so real, that I have seen the suicides sky rocket in the month of april, which is not normal for this time of year. the fear mongering was a little excessive the last few weeks and i'm tired of seeing things first hand not add up to what the media portrays it to be. the logical steps forward is letting the vast majority of healthy people back to work/life and continue to protect the smaller population of vulnerable. gretchen whitmer does not seem to understand this and I guarantee that it's not a small percentage of people who are not impressed with her response as of late. just my two cents from being on the "front lines"

The protesters do understand that it's not their life they're risking... they just don't care. They see empathy, and common courtesy as weaknesses.

👏 Grocery workers, delivery people, utility line workers, cleaners, food prep/processors, farm workers, truck drivers. 👏 👏 we need to get these people more pay and better social standing.

He dug his way up here from hell.

Thanks for staying on the air! I especially appreciate the longer musical interludes of Jon Batiste & 'stay homing'. It's a great way to showcase his talent and uplift our spirits.
