Hakko FR301 Desoldering Tool unboxing review and demo.

This is a quick unboxing and demo of use for the Hakko Fr-301 desoldering tool. In this video I show the first time use out of the box of using the Hakko to quickly replace a rotary encoder on a control board for a welder.

Just bought one myself. Fantastic tool. Saves _years_ of anger and frustration. Spent 3 days getting all the goodies out of my PCB pile, got a ways to go.
But I want to thank you because @4:40 you show how to use the damn iron holder. And that's the only thing I needed instructions for; the rest was a snap. It looked like it's supposed to be hooked over a door or shelf and stick the iron through the hole, but hole is too small and over a door or shelf is just ridiculous. I thought am I supposed to drill mounting holes? Booklet says nothing. I think the manufacturers get a chuckle by throwing in a metal abstract sculpture and saying, "We'll call it an iron holder, let's see if they can figure it out."
Last note: I put my temp adjust at 2 1/2, seems to work on most anything,

I just got mine in the mail today, and I've been giggling like a little school kid going through my box of broken electronics and salvaging parts. This thing is much easier than the wick and solder sucker. Amazing tool!

Finally bought one myself to work on my Williams Stellar Wars pinball project. It arrives tomorrow. Thanks for the video. I should have bought one a while ago. Removing solder with sucker literally sucks a$$.

Did that guy come with an extra tip? I kept reading that it should have - just wondering if I should buy one or if the one that comes with it should be a good size to zap from switches out of keyboards.
