If you're going to address the UAP topic it should be with a serious tone I'm tired of these giggly news anchors

We really got aliens living on Earth before GTA 6

The real aliens are the friends we made along the way

At this point, if the aliens invaded, I'd want to help them.

They’re not aliens from other planets, and they’ve been on earth longer than we have.

They're here disguised as soft furry creatures that say "MEOW."

Technically, if they are living on Earth then they are not aliens 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dr. John Mack was actually the first Ivy League Professor to take this phenomenon seriously. He was shamed by Harvard for studying it, but never fired. Dr. Avi Loeb is a treasure, our generation is so fortunate to him and his area of study. Thank you Avi for being so brave and open minded in your work!!

It's amazing how, 20 years ago, discussing UFOs/UAPs risked ridicule and career suicide. Thankfully, times are changing as more people recognize their presence and treat the topic more seriously. The key question now is: who or what made these things, and what is their purpose? Thank you, @NBC News, for covering this topic and encouraging more people to seek the truth. In the upcoming debate, the presidential candidates should address and be asked about these significant issues instead of avoiding them as they have for almost a century!

Doesnt take a scientist to be able to contemplate the possibility of aliens living on this planet

Not long ago, no academic would have dared to promote (career suicide) ideas that are now mainstream and openly considered to be true. We live in interesting times.

I would not be at all surprised if aliens lived on Earth.

Dear everyone, please understand that these news and media sources ONLY point out buzz words for views and ratings.

In 2008, I was a post-doc at MIT in an engineering discipline. I am now a professor at a top US university. While at MIT, I read a little bit about UFOs, the famous cases, and so on. I simply had a curious scientific mind, as I often looked up into the sky at night and wondered what may be out there.

Then, one day, I mentioned to my MIT labmates that I read about UFOs. And that my opinion is that most cases can be dismissed, but that a few cases are very difficult to explain. Unfortunately, nobody engaged the topic seriously. Instead, I was instantly ridiculed. "Haha, you believe in UFOs", "omg you believe in UFOs", and so on. This came from five MIT labmates. Prudent as I was, I realized that I better shut up, or else the labmates may talk about it to others. And then, given how competitive academia is, maybe bye bye my academic career. So, I said something to the extent that this is all just speculation, to "convince" them that I am not so crazy and to close off the topic. It worked. And then I kept my mouth shut, and I remained quiet to this day.

I don't think the atmosphere in academia is open to UAPs, even today. On the contrary, it is still hostile. Even today, you will still get ridiculed and treated as if you are a little crazy. There are exceptions of course, but I don't think things have changed that much.

I am not even some hard believer. I just think that there are some really strange cases that are hard to explain. For example, I am really unsure about what that pilot in the 2004 Nimitz incident saw. It's hard to say that he is lying, because there are other credible witnesses. It's hard to explain what he saw as earth technology, because we can't make flying "propane tanks" instantly accelerate to mach 5 and vanish. And it's been 20 years, if it is our earthly tech, where is it today, how come we never hear about it?

Nobody has been able to give me any better explanations. I think nobody knows the ultimate truth -- but there is something big to discover here, whatever it is. That's why I am happy to see Avi Loeb investigate the topic. After all, why did we have the SETI program, for decades? It had the same goal, discover ET intelligence. So, what Prof. Loeb is doing is not even that different to those previous programs.

Anyway, for a rank-and-file scientist in America today, I think it is still better to just avoid the topic. The only person who knows about my beliefs is my wife. She is a complete non-believer, so even she thinks that I am a little crazy. So I don't even bring it up with her.

I am waiting for that one day when maybe, I will be vindicated.

They didn't talk about the paper. Just Dr. Loeb's research. What? What did the paper in the headline even say?

The journalist isn’t giggling and not taking the topic seriously. He is actually excited to be talking about it with Dr. Loeb. You need to learn how to recognize the difference.
