I think going to lesser known cities in the UAE like Alain and some of the cities in the northern region will give u more experience with locals, but the people here don’t really notice tourists because 89% of the people are foreigners so it would be weird just to come up to a person that lived here for decades thinking they tourists lol

As an unbiased person you were completely correct about the comparison. I would also say that Saudi, as a beautifully diverse land, has been focusing on tourism which i think is too late but I hope it conserves its culture and religion and not influenced by westren's way of living.
