Telling myself to stop over analyzing is like telling my hair to stop growing

One of my uncles had a saying about overanalyzers..."When you're thinking long, you're thinking wrong."

For me, a very helpful way to tone down my overanalitic lifestyle was by very consiously approaching situations out of trust and confidence in myself, instead of constantly frantically trying to control myself, others and my surroundings. By changing your perspective on every situation, you suddently realize that the situation and outcome does not change, but your experience in the moment improves!
Also I felt very personally attacked wow, so thanks for making me more self-aware.

Watching you're videos makes me feel like its ok to not be ok. Getting to be ok takes time and there is no need to rush it. I just have to keep work on it. Im really glad there are youtubers like you.

Wow, such a reality check. I need to shut up and observe, instead of analyzing everything.

_"so changing your relationship to _*_uncertainty_*_ is the only way to stop constantly seeking for answers for a question that only _*_time_*_ has"_

damn this spoke to me on a whole other level. and this is actually not just relationships towards people I think. its your relationship towards your studies, career, or anything in the future!!

one thing I tend to do with overanalyzing is also trying do do everything just so I'm safe and ready, but often times the answer is not the quantity but the quality of your work.

*this was really good Anna huhu **_I needed this._*

When you expect the worst, you'll never be caught off guard, but may be pleasantly surprised.

Or, you could always expect the best, and lose your mind when one little thing doesn't go your way... like Oatmeal Cookies, apparently.

I analyzed my habit of overanalyzing years ago and modified the simulation parameters to adjust based on common human behavioral patterns. Now I run branching scenario paths with approximately 80% accuracy while including standard behavioral models.

oh my god, it was so terrifyingly spot on. like it’s transcended #relatable and now it just feels like anna akana is antman and she just shrunk and crawled into my brain and is now analyzing my neural synapses and pathways and how that translates to overanalyzation

This reminds me a lot of what my therapist has said about the foundations and treatment for ocd. It’s almost like an uncertainty phobia, so you compulsively do things and go through cycles, physically or mentally, to try to have an answer (I.e. a sense of security in the world and yourself) that doesn’t usually exist. Even if you wash your hands eight times a day for eight minutes each time, you aren’t really going to know if you have whatever germs you’re afraid of, so resisting the compulsion and becoming comfortable with the uncertainty is generally the only cure. Likewise if you’re obsessively thinking that a loved one or partner hates you, treatment would be resisting rereading your conversations, stalking through their Instagram for signs, or filling your browser history with ‘pink links’ of how you can give yourself a definite answer. I always love your videos, but this one especially hit the mark! 💕 hope to see more like this in the future
