I have a primos box call i found in its case, half burried in moss on top of a small mountain in eastern washington. It has some carpenter ant damage and the finish is gone but once i dried it out and chalked it up, it sounds great. I have sumce used it to call many turkeys in. Easily one of my most cherished possessions.

I end up tuning all my box calls, a little bit deeper and raspier seems to work better for me.

My first box call had to be retired. It was an old double sided box call (the double play) that cracked and never sounded right again.

Finally someone telling people NOT to mess with your box calls. Condition and use. Some clown on YouTube says he carries a screwdriver with him hunting so he can tune his box call in the field 😂. That makes no sense on so many levels.
