FAA is Over! NASA's Big Announcement for SpaceX Starship Launch 5...
With just under 24 hours left until the scheduled Starship launch on October 13th. Everyone is eagerly anticipating it—SpaceX, NASA, and all of us rocket enthusiasts.
However, it seems that environmental agencies are not as excited. Alongside the FAA, the government’s environmental body, which has been quite slow in granting SpaceX the necessary launch permits, the environmental group Save RGV has now filed a lawsuit against SpaceX, accusing Elon Musk's company of illegally discharging wastewater at the Boca Chica launch site near Brownsville, Texas.

The root of this issue likely stems from the two water deluge tests that SpaceX conducted just a few days ago. But honestly, this accusation seems ridiculous and frustrating. It feels like there’s a deliberate attempt to make things difficult for SpaceX before the launch. If I’m not mistaken, they might be trying to stir up trouble, forcing the FAA to spend extra time dealing with this issue, potentially causing further delays to the launch.
Do you agree with me? Comment 'Yes' if you do so I can see what you think!
Moreover, they haven't forgotten to demand a monetary settlement from SpaceX. This reminds me of the Blue Origin and ULA lawsuit, where they sued SpaceX, seeking damages for what seemed more like a personal benefit rather than any grand cause.
We can definitely see the similarities here.

The lawsuit is asking the court to impose fines of up to $56,460 per day for each time SpaceX used the cooling system without a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, in violation of the Clean Water Act. Save RGV alleges that this deluge system has polluted nearby wetlands at least 13 times without proper permits, violating the Clean Water Act with each occurrence.
However, this won’t intimidate SpaceX, as they have evidence proving their innocence.
SpaceX stated on X: “The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality conducted a technical review of Starship’s water-cooled flame deflector, which uses potable (drinking) water and determined that its use does not pose risk to the environment.”

They are engaged in fraud, deception, deceit, extortion, etc. a criminal offense. So is bringing frivolous cases into court.

Somebody in the Government needs to point out to the FAA & Environmental Agencies that space launches have been happening for over half a century from Florida with no impact on human safety & environmental damage & they should get over themselves as being protectors of humanity for the State of TEXAS. Texas is well able to take care of

Let's be honest, if anybody other than Elon Musk owned Space X, nobody would care, but the hatred for him is the reason for all of this. Pathetic. I don't agree with the man's politics and I wish he would just take us to space, but I am not going to bring the man down simply because I don't agree with him on everything.

Water in the wetlands, oh my god the humanity!!!!

The water they use is drinkable. So how is that polluting the wetland? The money they charge as a fine where does it go? Does it go into anybody's pocket or pension plan?

It’s not waste water. It’s potable water (drinkinking water).

Create regulations under the guise of protecting people, then use the laws to destroy American Industry .

Recycle and reuse the water on future flights.

Greens are fighting more for the "green" in their pockets. What is the harm of pouring fresh water into the ocean?

Not only do I agree with you, I wouldn't be surprised to find foreign influence with SaveRGV.

Until the court forces it, ignore the lawsuit.

How did flight 5 get rescheduled to October 13th? The FAA said it would be in November. Did some entity tell the FAA to stand down?

Any water that comes out of a water tap is then wastewater since it is no longer contained. If you fill your sink with water then let it out without anything added, then it's wastewater.

There are different estimates for how long it would take to travel to Mars. The time req'd is significantly greater than a trip to the moon. Considering the time it takes to get to Mars, one might guess the trip would involve a lengthy stay over, not just a few days. With all this considered, how will the people deal with significant bone density loss?

FAA should investigate dei riden boeing and not abuse spaceX.

waste water runoff is a real thing, the water deluge knocks down the chemicals in a rocket exhaust. that contaminates the water. Even Walmart's have waste water runoff pools near the stores, and that's just for parking lot water runoff.

No Chance PRC is funnelling funds direct to SRGV of course!
