If you don't want to learn a bunch of algorithms, you can still get really good at 2x2!

Using the code "JPERM" supports my channel and also gives you a discount on your order.

Info:
Each step makes you faster and you don't have to learn it all (except 1 & 2: you have to learn those).

The advanced stuff may seem unnecessary because "it's just Ortega, why not learn CLL?"

HOWEVER, if you're already amazing at 3x3, you can very quickly apply most of these techniques to 2x2, and it will be easier than learning CLL. Or, if you just hate learning 2x2 algorithms and you know you won't practice them much, then this tutorial can be very useful as you can apply this to 3x3 as well.

And lastly, if you learn all of this, EVERYTHING here is useful for advanced 2x2 methods or 3x3 PLL prediction, so it doesn't hurt to learn it. Check the description for more!

The first part seems like an ad for a mobile game like pro vs noob lol

It's been years since I practiced speedcubing. I was pretty active around 2014-2015, but I stopped because I got busy with work, just cubing enough since then so I didn't forget the algorithms I learned. Been getting back into it, learned the couple Ortega algs I didn't know, and I'm about a 7 second average. It's really fun and it opens up a lot more options for solving 2x2 if you know cfop as well

"amateur": gets 6 seconds
Me: gets 15 seconds after 2 years of cubing

Your Ortega tutorial is the best tutorial ever. I went from an average of 18 secs to an average of 5 secs

Judging by the thumbnail, pro cubers are the ones that right after picking the cube up, tilt it slightly during inspection instead of looking at it straight on before moving on to inspect other pieces.

Wow thanks this helped me! I want to get fast at 2x2 but I don’t want to learn a bunch of algorithms and want to stick to my Ortega method so thanks for this video!!

this is super nice. these are pretty handy but I already average about 4.3 with ortega

This is really helpful I have a comp coming up and it has 2x2 and I was going to try to learn all clear cases but I think this might help a little more since I'm so used to these cases

This is pretty cool. I am planning on using my 2x2 in one of my videos soon. Looks like I need to practice more...

I agree with everything you say in this video. I average low 2 with only CLL and Ortega and all of these tips are great ways for people to become fast with little algorithm knowedge

ive improvised my method subconsiously so much that i went from like 20s before i learnt ortega method, i used the normal rubiks cubes algorithms back then. and now my average is like 4-6s with my fastest time being like 3s
