So I've been reevaluating my thoughts on the show. And it may just be the most hated Disney Channel show of all time (although, their new animated series, Primos, which doesn't even have a release date, yet, is already giving the show a run for their money) but it still makes me feel bad for the fans, whom are mostly in the target demographic, being told by other people that they're begging the channel to cancel their favorite show and that they're stupid for liking it. That's disgusting. That's even more disgusting than any disgusting thing Pamela Eells O'Connell ever wrote.

Weirdly enough, it reminded me of my former stepbrother who HATED SpongeBob even BEFORE the movie! He sometimes made snarky remarks but he was mature enough not to make any of those comments.
Comparing SpongeBob to Bunk'd is funny to me because Bunk'd has pretty much become Disney Channel's SpongeBob or Teen Titans Go over the years. They're gonna milk this show for all of its' worth regardless of quality. Renewing the show long enough to break the channel's record as their longest running show ever! And advertising it as hard as they can, even flooding the schedule with mostly reruns of the show. All while treating every other show like mouse droppings. Barely advertising them or announcing its' cancellation or worse, quietly cancelling them because they didn't reach the same numbers the channel's favorite show had. Whose fault is that!?!
Another thing all three shows have in common is that they're very VERY infamous for a long string of bad episodes or bad seasons. At least SpongeBob started with 5 generally well received seasons. Bunk'd started with 3 terribly received seasons. One bad season is enough to kill a show's reputation. But more than one!?! Let alone 3!?! Even if the show got better eventually, that's a long time!
It especially doesn't help that even a lot of fans of the show hate the show for writing off not only the Ross kids, but practically every character, some with no explanation. Except Lou and the borderline mini-mes of the Ross kids who suffered from the bad writing of the last 3 seasons.
Continuing the SpongeBob comparisons, another reason why the show is hated is because they're continuing the franchise with a largely roasted spin-off (one of which is ironically also about a summer camp) even after a beloved major player of said franchise tragically dies way too young. It's even worse with Cameron Boyce because he just so happened to be a part of TWO franchises, this and Descendants, likely because they gave the channel their highest ratings in recent memory in a time where streaming has fully eclipsed cable in ratings numbers. Still doesn't excuse for not promoting anything else as much as them, tho.

I still don't have the energy or time to watch Bunk'd but I would absolutely be here for a Quinton Reviews or Keyan Carlile style retrospective on Jessie AND Bunk'd! Speaking of both these guys, have you watched either of their videos! Keyan Carlile just announced he was doing a deep dive on The Penguins of Madagascar!
