American rock alternative band Third Eye Blind perform one of their many hits "Never Let You Go" live at The Lone Star Lounge during the 2007 SXSW music festival. Released as a single from their 1999 album "Blue," the song was very successful, peaking at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Never Let You Go" was included on the soundtrack to the 2002 film, Clockstoppers. A re-recording of this song is available for Rock Band 2 via the Rock Band Network. It is also heard in the 2000 film, Coyote Ugly. Alvin and the Chipmunks covered this song for their 2007 video game Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was also featured in the fourth American Pie installment, American Reunion.

Lyrics:
There's every good reason for letting you go
She's sneaky and smoked out
And it's starting to show
I never let you go
I never let you go
I never let you go
I never let you turn around, your back on each other
That's a good idea, break a promise to your mother
Turn around, your back on each other
You say that I changed
Well maybe I did
But even if I changed
What's wrong with it?
I never let you go
I never let you go
I never let you go
I never let you turn around, your back on each other
That's a good idea, break a promise to your mother
Turn around, your back on each other
And now our friends are gone, are gone
And all the time moves on and on
And all I know is it's wrong, it's wrong
And all I know is it's wrong, it's wrong
If there's a reason, it's lost on me
Maybe we'll be friends, I guess we'll see
I never let you go
I never let you go
I never let you go
I never let you turn around, your back on each other
That's a good idea, break a promise to your mother
Turn around, let's turn on each other
Good idea, break a promise to your mother
Turn around, your back on each other
That's a good idea, break a promise to your mother
Turn around, your back on each other
What a good idea
I remember the stupid things
The mood rings, the bracelets and the beads
Nickels and dimes, yours and mine
Did you cash in all your dreams
You don't dream for me no, you don't dream for me no
But I still feel you pulsing like sonar from the days in the waves
That girl is like a sunburn I would like to save
That girl is like a sunburn I would like to save
She's like a sunburn, she's like a sunburn

I love this song such a classic but they’re horrendous live.

Huh. looks like Third Eye has turned a Blind eye to a decent live performance mix.

I say that you've changed. And I'm gonna have to let you go.

I love Third Eye, but the guitar tones and performance in this video is utter crap.

In fairness, most of the band are not the OG members. These are not the guys who recorded this song back in the day. So yeah its not gonna sound the same.

lead guitar is a tad sharp... kind of embarrassing for a professional band.

Sounds like how you probably sound singing this in the car 😆

Was Stephan contemplating saying "sloppy hoe" again at 0:40?? Hahaha

He can't quite hit the high notes

Sounds like the guitarist realised way too late on that every single bend up to that point was too sharp.

This is most definitely not from their 2013 run at SXSW. This has got to be before 2009.

They definitely had a good producer on their album 😅😅

This is the one song they should never perform live

Frankly, this band sucks live. I love their material, but, with the exception of Ten Days Late, I have yet to hear a decent live performance out of them.

3EB has really gone downhill in recent years. Their performances are crap.
