Imagine the Resistance has finally taken back earth from the Combine and it’s been 20 years, City 17 is now the capital of the Republic of Free Men, now known as Lamda City. Things are happier now, the first generation after the Suppression Field was taken down grow up hearing about the heroics of Gordon, Alyx and Barney, as if they were mythical figures. HEV suits are worn as traditional battle armor, the crowbar is a symbol of hope of perseverance. and breakthroughs in gravity and other technologies with the help of the Vortigaunts have helped fix the world and reconnect what’s left. But it’s a fragile peace, the world and humanity are barely healing from the nightmare the Combine brought. Food is scarce, but hope for a better, brighter future is everywhere in sight.

Monsters still lurk in the shadows however, sure there are still Xen Creatures, even zombies, but the most dangerous creatures of all are human.
A Neo-Combine faction led by ex civil protection and Overwatch warlords nostalgic of their privileges and power are building an army in attempts to make contact with the Overworld. A dangerous war is brewing that could undo all that has been built.

When Gordon didn't take alyx safely to the white forest

It takes me back to Fall 2006 when my sister's then boyfriend showed me Steam & Half Life on his PC, it was super cool to me back then
and I vividly remember that I borrowed his account to play the games.
After they broke up, I of course lost the information in order to play the game, but shortly thereafter I created my own Steam account.
I love the Half Life series so much, there's alot of memories & nostalgia thats buried deep the game and also within The Orange Box trilogy, for me.

I recently ordered my own Valve Index and I'm suspecting an 8 week queue time for it, but I honestly can't wait.
I cried a few times thinking back on the things that have happened throughout these 10+ years, it's scary how things fast are moving sometimes - the bad and the good, the friends I no longer play GMod/TF2 with...
I wish I could go back and experience it and not take it for granted, as we all probably do, growing up.
Hell I'll probably cry when I launch Alyx with first ever VR equipment.

I love this picture because it shows that the G-man might actually feel defeated, or overwhelmed. You see, the fact that the combine imprisoned him and planned to use him as a weapon instead of an ally finally confirms the decades old theories in a way. It at least proves that the G-Man isn't working with the combine, and might be working against them. And this might be showing the stress that the G-Man's feeling, knowing that he's just an employee who's agianst the might of the Universal Union. Maybe he's stressed and guilty about putting Gordon and Alyx and others into stasis when he knows that they're on his side, they're also against the combine but he has his orders from a higher force and he can't risk himself disobeying those orders. I just think that this one piece of concept art of the G-Man is fascinating because if you look at it the right way, it answers so many questions. Maybe The G-Man considers himself similar to Godon in that they're both powerful, and they're both acting on behalf of higher powers. Maybe G-man isn't living a full life. He's carrying out the will of his employers. He himself is only living a Half Life.

Its surreal seeing Gman, the omipotent and omniscient entity that uses people like pieces on a chess board craddling his head in a room like a he had just been fired from his job. He knows the future and past, he probably knows how it will all end but here he is, in a room, trying so hard to keep it all together. It humanizes him in such a simple manner

This picture means so much, even beyond the meaning it takes in HL: Alyx. It serves to show the writers block so many game developers in Valve have been going through for the past decade. They have been put through a constant stream of leaks, pressure from the community to make something worthy, and cancelled games. The fact that they were able to ship Alyx is nothing short of a miracle, and if the teaser at the end is anything to be believed, Valve has come back
