Forget Everest! The Dangerous Road to the World's Most DEADLY Peak | K2 Full Film

Join me as I embark on a relentless journey across some of the world's highest and most treacherous roads to reach the iconic K2. This isn’t just a scenic route; it's a test of endurance, grit, and awe in one of Earth's most remote and breathtaking regions. Along the way, we’ll explore hidden valleys, cross paths with resilient locals, and get a rare glimpse into the lives of those who dare to conquer the world's second-highest peak. Will we find someone who’s taken on K2’s unforgiving slopes? Come along to witness it all firsthand!

This route starts in Skardu, heads toward Ghanche and then Khaplu for the night, and ends in the mountaineering town of Hushe at the Little Karim Hotel.

This region includes some of the highest mountains in the world, including K2, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum II (G2), Masherbrum (K1), Rakaposhi, and Gasherbrum I (G1).

K2 is the second-highest mountain on Earth, at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet), only surpassed by Mount Everest.

Often referred to as "The Savage Mountain," K2 is considered one of the most difficult and dangerous mountains to climb. It has a higher fatality-to-summit ratio than any other peak in the world, with approximately one person dying for every four who reach the top. However, recent data suggests this ratio might be improving due to more summits.

The mountain is called K2 because it was the second peak measured in the Karakoram Range during the Great Trigonometrical Survey of British India. Due to its remoteness, it lacks a widely recognized local name, though names like Chogori (from Balti words meaning "big mountain") have been suggested.

Disclaimer: This video is a personal travel documentary and does not take a political stance on the Kashmir dispute. My focus is to share the beauty, culture, and experiences of this unique region with those who may not have the opportunity to visit. Dear Karl, we are the production company that made "Beyond The Wetlands", the movie poster you saw at the end. Thank you so much for the shoutout. We're long time fans of your work and hope you had a pleasant stay in Pakistan :)

Its true that these people are very kind and hospitable by nature, but something also has to be said for Karl (and other travelers like him), who engage with locals from a place of genuine curiosity, respect and gratitude. People like Karl bring out the best in the people they meet, which makes them a blessing wherever they go.

Karl. You have just reminded me of my high school history & geography lessons. Yangtze. Hwang Ho (Yellow River). Indus. The rivers for life of ancient civilizations.

Hi Karl, firstly, this is an amazing journey, the videography, the commentary, your interaction with the locals, and above all, your urdu/hindi, , , I have watched the entire series and highly recommend it to anyone who admires a good adventure. Thank you for sharing this. Shout out to your wife for letting you go solo on this trip, introducing you to hindi/urdu and in turn to the beautiful culture and people of this region, as a Pakistani it pains me to know she could not come with you for reasons we all know, I wish it was not like this. My second comment is about the bike, these small displacement engines are not made for these adventures, on the contrary they are only good for city commuting, levelled paved roads and very short distances, it's a miracle it has taken you this far, Pakistanis modify these 125s and 150s because we don't many affordable options, the local industry is stuck in the 1980s, there hasn't been any significant improvements in the bikes made here and people are stuck with what's available. Of course the rich and ultra rich have their 500-600-750s, 1000cc 1200GSs but they are not even It's a miracle the chain lasted this long considering you have done 100s of kms in the mountains, and in the desert. You have pushed it way beyond it's limit, I am surprised how good this Honda CB 150 in stock form is. Your journey has probably ended by now, but if you had consulted a local adventure rider beforehand, they would've advised you to do three things, 1) change the tires even on a rental bike, would've been worth every penny 2) carry necessary spares including a chain and sprockets set and 3) use additives to compensate for the low quality fuel often found in the northern areas of pakistan. You cannot expect more of this bike, it has done way, way more than what it says on the tin. You deserve a medal for this ride on a used, stock CB 150, and Honda should put this bike in their museum really. Congrats to both of you.

I am fascinated by the beautiful landscape. So varied. Then suddenly the hustle and bustle of little villages.
I am worried you have said to support the bike man as now more people will come to.him and he will be overworked and still not take any payment!
Once again, I am loving this Pakistan series. Thankyou😊
P.s: I felt every bump of that ride oomph!
