I guess I’ve been pretty lucky. My 7AT has been boosted (Z1 supercharger kit) since 136k (now at 160k) and I’ve only experienced the coolant heater hose issue. Cleaning the throttle bodies more often will typically eliminate the jerky shifts.

Not trying to downplay your experience or anything, but I’ve only ever seen one of those cars broken down on the side of the road, and it was for a dead battery. These cars are stupid reliable, and the issues you listed aren’t as common as you may think until you reach higher mileage numbers. I enjoyed the video though! Please continue making content.

If your have more then miles, If your doing the gallery gasket, water pump might as well do complete timing chain and cam sprockets, thermostat, drive belt .. after that your good for 100k more miles . This is $4500 if you go to the dealer. Just make sure you bring them the revised gallery gasket from z1 Motorsports or concept Z performance.. I’m getting this done this week . $$$$ hurts but I don’t have a garage to do it myself

Picked up a 2010 G37x w 211k miles for $4000 about a year ago. 2 owners and all service history up to new. Car still has original gaskets and oil pressure is good, surprisingly. Every oil change I pressure test, but I think I’ll run the originals until the engine gives me issues since it’s at 228k now. Thing gets daily driven 150+ miles a day. 3000 mi OCI Rotella t6 5w-40 w/ OEM Nissan filters

My 08 g35xS has had every one of the issues you mentioned and it’s sitting at 248k miles right now. I’ve replaced everything, water pump went out at 200k, right now my valve covers are leaking oil and my right control arm is clunking

I have a 2018 Honda civic lx I’m looking at either a 2013 Infiniti g37x awd with 39k miles that was also garage kept and looks pristine priced at 20k, or a 2020 Acura ilx FWD a spec with red guts priced at 25k, I know the ilx will last me a long time because of the k24 engine and a pretty reliable DCT but I live in New England and kinda want awd and a v6 would sound better and move way faster than a ilx. I am a currently a junior in college and don’t have that much money so what should I do??

Had my g for 4 years. Beat on it just about everyday. Got through 600 mile road trip through a desert. Blew the water pump literally when i parked it in my driveway. Replaced the water pump. Havent had any issues besides that.

I have a 2010 with 180, 500, and i haven't had any of those problems. I bought it in 2013 with 55, 000 miles, and ive only changed the battery twice. I have to fix my tie rod on the left side because of a squeaking issue, and that just happened this year 2024.

I got my '13 g37 at 81k miles, had it for 1.5 yrs and have been doing oil changes every 5k miles. Its at 101k miles now. from 3rd to 4th im flooring it and it drops about 0.5rpms for a split second before it quickly gains rpms like normal. Never done anything else to it besides muffler delete. Other issue is that it goes up and down 0.25 rpms on a cold start. I love driving it and these are the only things ive noticed.

Guys I need help... Is a 2013 g37x with 103k miles for 11k worth it? It looks well maintained and I was able to see it in person and everything is clean. Currently the car market is insane so finding a good deal on any car is tough but i'm concerned how reliable it will be. Any thoughts?

When you do the gallery gasket, you might as well do the timing chain and tensioner, the water pump, and the serpentine belt. Also the entire front doesn't need to come off. There's room to do everything without doing that. You will need to drop the oil pan so factor in 5.7 quarts of oil and 3 containers of 50/50 nissan long life blue coolant. I was quoted $1500 by my shop when the time comes. If you do it yourself, you get get all the upgraded parts from Z1 Motorsports. Few other things to watch for is failure of the passenger sensor occupancy sensor which you can bypass with an airbag360 for $80 and sticky / melting dashboards which will eventually crack no matter how well you keep car do to age and heat (not the sun).

I have a 2012 G37x with the 7AT. Bought in 2014 with 5, 000 miles on the clock. (Low mile lease return) Immediately installed Stillen supercharger kit for >400 whp.

On the advice of Pat at L10 Transmissions, I installed an additional transmission cooler and inline magnetic filter.
Also installed Setrab engine oil cooler.

Now at 86, 000 miles and no issues (yet) with either engine or transmission. (Knocks wood!).

Looking into 2013 g37x with 116k on it for $9500, worth it? It looks like it’s been maintained well and only 2 owners

*2008. Yes I still drive it. #1 mine was cracked but not bad. fixed. #2 driver side. I've been using duct tape on the roof but found a way to reroute to the A/C drain port. #3 cleaned them a while back. #4 haven't had that issue. #5 yes but dread taking it apart. Only a few drops after each drive. #6 haven't had that issue. #7 gallery gasket? That's a new one on me. Other problems I've encountered are front ball joints have gone bad. Replaced ignition coils and 2nd set of spark plugs at 125k. The cracking dash! And, it is not an easy feat to replace. Easier to put a custom dash mat on it. 😕*
