To add onto the gear point: One thing newcomers to the music game miss is that limit breeds creativity. Cutting down my sample packs, plugins, etc. to the essentials that I have used and know I will use in the future helped immensely. Because I no longer enter choice paralysis as I don't really have that many choices. So now I need to get the sound in my head using the tools that I have available. Sometimes it results in trash, sometimes I'm on point, sometimes it comes out better than expected. That's all part of the fun.

I'm a text-book overthinker and I feel like it is the biggest reason that I haven't been releasing as much music as I am capable of. 2024 is gonna be different. Appreciate the insight.

Thanks for this :) I feel like I never release music/take big breaks because I feel like it’s not worth to be perceived unless it’s perfect but then this video made me remember that some artists hate their songs but it might be someone’s favourite song

The only thing i really overthink about is arranging because its so many ways to do it and i want to pick the best way. Im slowly overcoming that bad habit.

The thing I do to not overthink is figure what needs to get done at that moment and break it down to bite size steps.

Also i write down what i did for the day to track weekly my habits, because its easy to forget what you've done throughout th week.

I fr needed to hear this, I’ve been a producer for 8 years and completely rebranded and now I’m starting from scratch, I just got to trust the process and continue to make music because that makes me happy, it doesn’t matter if I don’t have the support that I used to, I know it will come, in time

This resonate with me!!! I come from a family of super producers and musicians who are part of the gate keepers in the music industry!!! I battle with fear of competition because everyone I follow on YT I literally have the same skill level!!! My wife has been pushing me to not only start my dreams but finish them!!!

"Just do it" pops into my head so often and I hate that it's some corporate slogan, but fk it, it's the most important lesson for everything and they just happened to trademark the simplest way to say it

Also, incredible video, so simple and so true. Every artist and really just everyone in general needs to hear this. Overthinking, doubting, perfectionism, all that shit has cost me over a year of time now and this video perfectly sums everything up. No more wasting time, just going to enjoy the ups and downs and keep getting a little closer to my dream each day

Been a big fan for the past two years. You inspired me to start making beats and this video inspired me to upload my first video. Much Love!! 🙏

So good. There are two types of producers: The ones who think and the ones who do. Only those who are not scared to make mistakes can grow.

honestly I think I have the opposite problem, of sometimes making a beat in one day, sending it to a label the same evening and then being dissatisfied with the mix when it comes out a few months later, but also listening to it again months after the release appreciating it for its authenticity, and it was a piece of what led me today to have the numbers I have, not insane but not disappointing enough to have to radically change my approach

while the second point: that nothing really has too much importance, this too has always been a mantra of mine, I have always been someone who doesn't give much weight to certain things, especially material or aesthetic ones in people, but I believe that they are two focal and important points and the video is and will be very useful for many people!

Can you make a video on automation features and how to use automation properly?

Great video bro! Droppin gems! I'm just now finally starting to see a tiny bit of traction on some of my original music here on YouTube. The first track I ever dropped on streaming services back in 2020 has about 250ish plays on YouTube and a track I put out on Friday got over 100 plays in one day, another 100 the next day, and another song released the same day performed similarly. I'm learning some things from experimenting with waterfall releases already and it's exciting! It turns out YouTube was suggesting my videos to a lot of people and some folks are commenting on them, liking them, adding them to playlists. Getting a subscriber or two every day and a follower or two on Spotify here and there, and now people are finding my original music via browse features. People are actually trying to find my music which is awesome! I'm gonna be putting out content to pair with my consistent music releases in hopes of pushing the numbers up and turning the trickle of water into a huge wave.

I can relate a lot to this video! My day job is analysis so I naturally analyse all the time, especially when it comes to my music.
I've started the year well by planning better and I am a big believer in "just do it"! I have managed to do this on many occasions and it's very helpful to remember!
Great video and advice. 👏🏻

We all do it, and this applies to products too in business, we want it to be perfect but it will never be.

I think the larger problem here is that this overthinking doesn't even come from us. We're only influenced to overthink when we don't stand for anything, don't trust in ourselves, and place too much emphasis on our passions, rather than our own personal growth. Because of this, we look to people on social media to solve these issues for us, when the problem that's being ignored is our relationship with ourselves; our strength and determination. We end up looking for someone else's guidance, when we really need to develop our own strength and principles that will keep us looking/moving forward.

And the thing is, a lot of these unanswered questions in our mind will only be solved by REAL life experiences and action. The question to ask yourself is, what are you ignoring in your own life that will take you to the next level. Thanks for this video, helps a lot.

Great video - totally agree with the not worrying too much at the start. I overanalyzed early songs and def didn't help lol
