Analytical geometry, how to get the equation of a tangent to a circle

Getting the equation of a tangent to a circle is one of the easiest questions you'll ever have to answer. A tangent is just a straight line so all we need is the gradient and the y-intercept. We can usually get our gradient by using the diameter or the radius of the circle and then using the formula m1 time m2 equals -1 for lines that are perpendicular to each other.
