As someone with optimal internet I still get studders and lag spikes. It’s a server problem

Remember that not all of us live in ivory towers with super internet.
there are offline players or players with poor internet connection all around the world.

Massive mistake. I have core memories of young me playing cod offline with bots or campaign. Rural areas don’t have good internet

Can’t play offline.
So essentially you don’t own the game when you buy it. Just Access governed by them.

Big L to force texture streaming…. At this point they should just give us options to install and uninstall specific parts of the game… Just have Multiplayer, Zombies, Ranked Play, Warzone, etc…. We should just be able to pick what we play then let the servers be solely connection based not bogged down by streaming textures 24/7…. Servers are already TERRIBLE…. At this point just bring back old CoD nobody wants this new age crap.

My issue is the fact that I sent have unlimited data. Just during the beta, from the 1st until Wednesday at 10am, I 100% completely maxed out all of my data limit for the month. Everyone in my house is pissed at me now because we don't have Internet now the 1st of October. This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. I kept changing my settings to the lowest texture streaming but every single time my PC crashed, it reset the settings to optimal 64 and I didn't notice.

With this new mandatory connection to play cod they HAVE to upgrade their servers otherwise even if you have good internet the current servers will not be able to handle this choice of theirs

As a longtime member of the Call of Duty Zombies community, I want to share my thoughts on the current state of Zombies in recent Call of Duty games. First, I genuinely appreciate the effort and creativity behind these games and the job opportunities they create in the industry. However, some crucial aspects are being overlooked, and it’s essential for developers to listen to the community, especially those of us who have been playing Zombies since its inception.

I come from the older Call of Duty Zombies era, when the mode was about more than just shooting waves of zombies. It was about solving intricate Easter eggs, decoding Cyphers, and tackling challenging puzzles with friends. The satisfaction came from figuring things out ourselves, not from having the game simplified.

Unfortunately, the newer Zombies content seems to have lost some of that magic. While the visuals and lore are impressive, the focus appears to have shifted towards more casual gameplay, which doesn’t cater to the hardcore fans. I understand there’s a new generation of players who may prefer a quicker, easier mode, but I believe there’s a way to cater to both audiences without sacrificing what made Zombies great.

The past three Call of Duty Zombies games (Cold War, Vanguard, and the Zombies modes in Modern Warfare) haven’t lived up to the standards set by earlier titles like World at War, Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2, and Black Ops 3. These recent iterations have simplified the experience, reducing the depth of Easter eggs and overall challenge.

Zombies used to be about survival mixed with strategy, teamwork, and exploration. The early maps, such as Kino der Toten, Der Riese, and Origins, struck a perfect balance between challenge and mystery. The community thrived on discovering hidden secrets and solving complex puzzles. However, recent maps focus more on streamlined, fast-paced gameplay that lacks the depth we once enjoyed.

The shift towards casual play has diluted the mode’s unique identity. Zombies was never about making things easy; it was about rewarding dedication and curiosity. The latest releases, including Cold War, offer less challenging Easter eggs and more straightforward maps, which feels like a step back.

Despite the Call of Duty franchise’s evolution, especially with the success of Warzone, Zombies has its own identity and a dedicated fan base. We don’t just want quick matches or simplified experiences. We want to spend hours working through complex maps, finding secrets, and facing challenging gameplay.

Cold War Zombies, for instance, had potential but didn’t capture the essence of earlier titles. The maps were smaller, the Easter eggs were less rewarding, and the overall challenge felt reduced. It’s frustrating because I know the team behind Zombies can create memorable experiences, as seen with Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2, and Black Ops 3. However, the focus has shifted to casual players, leaving hardcore fans behind.

To revive Zombies, Activision should return to basics. Revisit what made Zombies great and build from there. The community wants classic, round-based maps with challenging Easter eggs and deeper lore. There’s no need to simplify the experience—we thrive on complexity and challenge.

One potential solution is to create a standalone Zombies game. This would allow developers to focus solely on crafting the best Zombies experience without fitting it into the larger Call of Duty franchise. I would gladly pay for a standalone Zombies game if it meant getting the depth and challenge we’ve been missing. Imagine a yearly Zombies game with multiple maps, deep lore, and complex Easter eggs.

In summary, while I appreciate the effort in new Zombies content, Activision needs to listen to the community and get back to what made Zombies great. The last three Zombies modes have missed the mark, and there’s an opportunity to return to the complexity and challenge that made Zombies special. Whether through classic maps or a standalone game, I believe Zombies can honor its past while evolving in meaningful ways.

I hope this feedback helps shape the future of Call of Duty Zombies. Let’s bring back what made Zombies truly special.

I have 1G fiber, and my ps5 is hardlined to the modem (not thru wifi). I have adjusted my router settings to allow for unlimited bandwidth allocation to my console, and I even did the proper port forwarding. I experience stuttering, frame skips, rubber banding, and high ping on both MW3 and the BO6 beta. All those issues are while having the texture streaming set to minimal. The issues aren't constant. But they are frequent enough to be bothersome. The state of the COD servers is disgraceful given how much money they make, and considering they are now owned by Microsoft, that just makes it more embarrassing.

I’ve noticed the low ranked lobbies didn’t have any lag nor packet burst. Just a test I did during the beta.

Why cant they give us a texture pack? These devs are lazy af

I agree as a long time COD player its insane that this is being forced on us rather it just being local.
Also, what a lot of people arent talking about is peoples data cap's, a lot of people only have a certain amount per month before being charged a lot after the fact.
The other issue is to do with bandwidth in general as typically downloading and uploading data to the cod server will playing is minimal with texture streaming it will eat into your bandwidth causing higher ping and even affecting other people on you network with netflix etc.
If there is a cache option then you should be just able to download everything up front, like there is a way to stop the downloading on PC by changing the config files but this shouldnt be happening.

They already stated there will be dedicated separate serves to multiplayer and zombies.

On an unrelated note, if BO6 kept MW3s base movement combined with omnimovement and the shooting while diving it would be soooo good. Im liking bo6 but sprint to fire, weapon swap, slide cancel, tac sprint and a few other things could use some improvmwnts.

Mandatory internet for the campaign is atrocious

Yes, the texture streaming may require more of your consoles storage. On Cold War, it was like 20GB for the Multiplayer High Resolution Pack. So texture streaming being implemented on cod is good but I do agree that there should be an option to turn it off.

Given how the beta performed with packet loss, I’m thinking CoD themselves haven’t even figured this out. They should revert the changes until they figure it out or give us options like you said. But we know they are too stubborn for that 😅.

Storage space has never been an issue with me- I have a pc with too many ssds lol. Call of duty is forcing me to deal with texture streaming to fix a problem I didn't have, and now I have a new problem of "packet burst" because of it
