I preferred the previous version, when I opened an article it felt neat and newspaper-like. Now it's just web pages opened on a different app.

I'm worried about a lot of bias being implemented in this. How does Google define "trustworthy new sources"?

What if I only want news from The Daily Wire, Breitbart, Fox News, Newsmax, Daily Caller and The Drudge Report?

Is it going to mark these as "fake news" and only show me CNN, MSNBC or New York Times?

I wish there was a way to pay a subscription for all (most, at least) the reading channels. Like a Spotify but for news. I'd be more willing to pay if I knew I could get more sources and support them all.

I can't get the US edition of Google news online anymore. This kept me tied to home. Hate only getting news from New Zealand. Why can you not find 'editions' anymore?

It will be greater if news content itself is hosted in the app as instant read-only interactive news instead of in the website to load the articles a lot faster, something similar to what Facebook did with Instant Articles

They choose the products you see, they choose the ads you get, now they choose the informations you read.

I used to be able to tell Google News what stories I wanted to read by clicking on a cogwheel and manually adding topics. Have they removed that customization? Now I can read only what *they* think I should read.

These two guidelines provided by Google should set off alarm bells to anyone who has a thirst for knowledge or anyone that has the audacity to examine both sides of a topic. Imagine only being able to see and hear the corporate narrative on such important issues like vaccines, 9/11, holistic health, the Kennedy assassination, climate change, banking alternatives, and many other important matters. And that is only scratching the surface.

This information from Google’s handbook was first uncovered by Melissa Dykes at Truth Stream Media who made a great video that eloquently breaks down the importance of this complex issue. I highly recommend everyone watch it and more importantly support their work.

Does it hide things like YouTube/FaceBook?
If not, I will use this

It has a feature called 'Full Coverage' which shows you news from various sources, I just checked it out and here is an example -


"Trump just manufactured a national security crisis for no reason" - the Guardian


This is followed by a few neutral sources like the BBC and Tweets of Trump, Macron and Boris Johnson and then

"A courageous Trump call on a lousy deal" - The New York Times

They said at Google IO it will be available to everyone within the next week so most people should get it in a few days
