I’m so glad you included Maintenance in your list! Being a good steward of what we are given is a valorous character trait that should be taught and modeled at all times. Love your videos!

Great tips! One more scent tip to add…when I go browsing at a nice design store and find an amazing candle that I love but is outside my budget, I take note of what elements make up the scents (if it is higher-end they will be natural sources). Then I go home and buy essential oils of that kind and make my own concoction for my diffuser. For example, I recently found a sandalwood/rose scented candle but it was $50. So I just bought some sandalwood and rose essential oils, found a ratio I liked in my diffuser, and it smelled just like the candle! Way cheaper — and no smoke or fire involved! Plus you build a nice collection of oils to mix and match over time.

You’re right on q — I was preparing for a realtor to come by and assess my home . I will admit I let things slip for a while - now that I knew someone was coming ... lol- in a week fixed it up and never looked back! My house is much more inviting and I feel refreshed ... it does change your mentality living in a clean organized well kept home 😉👍

One thing I would like to point out is the example you showed for the old yellowed light switch cover. New ones can be hard to find for some configurations. I have one that's difficult. I spray painted mine to update the appearance. Never underestimate the power of paint.

Love that we get tips that are actually really practical and make a lot of sense in an objective way. So many of the decorating tips given by most interior decor channels are really just the designer's personal preference and style.

I love how you literally opened my eyes on things that is important, when decorating.

I cannot deny your argument is valid. Yes, especially the selection of colors and window treatments are rather important.

I’ve been trying to find this type of info for years as I’ve been growing more interested in learning about design and styling. Mainly as a hobby for my own home and my love of DIY. This helped so incredibly much we need more content out there like this!!!

These are excellent tips, and out of mischief I was going to add a translation on why they look high end....

1) Clutter free; translation; I have 3 other properties and can afford huge storage units to put away things that are out of season or throw out things when I don't need them.
2) Clean; Translation; we have staff
3) Big Art; translation; I buy original art
4) Vintage rugs. translation; I'm from old money and inherited this stuff OR, We're well traveled.
5) Lighting; translation; we got a designer in.

I swear by white bed linen. Pattern 'dates' a room, and visually patterned bed linen take up a lot of visual real estate in your design.

Your channel just popped up in my feed. This was so enjoyable I watched it a second time. The information was freshly presented and the graphics were on long enough to both enjoy and make your statement well understood. I learned several tips that I am going to implement. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos, and of course, I have subscribed! Best wishes for an even more successful YouTube channel.
