They only see their disability and not yours.

All the complaints are from elderly who think THEY should be the only ones with priority. I have a mobility scooter (46 years old/not obese) and the snarky remarks have all come from the elderly!

Virtually every single one questioning this man look like they able to me, yet they feel it is ok to question him.

Same used to happen to my dad who had severe rheumatoid arthritis; "You can't see pain" was his standard reply.

I was in a wheelchair for 7 yrs and while my husband was pulling my chair out an old husband and wife abused us for parking there. They think cause you are young, even if you are missing a leg and in a chair you aren’t entitled to park in a disabled spot. It annoys me as most older people with a disabled badge only have it cause they are old. Disgusting. Also you don’t always see someone disabilities. That’s why I stopped parking in the disabled spots.

Well done for being so polite. I am not disabled but my brother is & drives with hand controls on his Jag - when we go out & park in disabled bays - I get out & get his wheelchair from the boot. I have lost count of the times people look or pass a loud comment about where we have parked but have only been tackled a couple of times over it. I feel like telling them what to do in not such a polite way but my brother won't have this.

Being a Blue Badge holder for more than two decades, I've encountered a few blue badge Karen's myself, I can understand their frustration at people in general parking in bays reserved for genuine disabled drivers (however he's right in saying blue badges are not attached to any specific vehicle, only the badge holder). Once anyone establishes a driver has a valid Blue badge displayed, the holder is NOT legally required to show any member of the public the reverse side of their card, that exposes the holders personal information. Anyone can take a photograph of the front of a blue badge (serial number) and report it to the local authorities (if they suspect the badge is being misused), however the public have absolutely NO authority to demand proof of validity from a badge holder, that's harassment. Not all disabilities are visible, much less apparent to the casual observer. 🤔

This is my opinion, I could be wrong. 😉

I get the "You dont look disabled" all the time - my answer is the same every time - "You dont look stupid". Seems to work quite well.

By god there’s some annoying people about. Reminds me of when I was parked in a McDonald’s car park many years ago and said to my family that there was a classic example of someone parking in a disabled bay, then a young mother got out of the driver’s side with an artificial leg. I’ve never judged anyone else since learning my lesson.

A few years ago I was walking into my local Tesco when a bright red Ferrari drove into one of the disabled bays just outside the shop. A man got out and an older guy walking past said “That’s disgusting, parking that in a disabled space”. The Ferrari driver bent down, rolled up his left trouser leg to reveal an artificial leg, and said “Have you got one of these?”. One of the funniest things I have ever seen!

What annoys me is that so many people DO park in disabled spaces when they aren't supposed to. This is not one of them!

This happened to someone I know they have a van which has their electric chair in the back and have had so many people say a van can’t be a disabled vehicle. Lol unbelievable

I swear if you’re not elderly or falling out and crawling to where you need to be, people in this country think “they don’t need a blue badge”
