Having your parents buy you a Happy Meal at McDonald’s was easily one of the best things when you were a kid. Being able to open that box and see what toy was inside was just like Christmas morning. Happy Meals have existed at the iconic fast food joint since 1979 and have been making kids happy ever since. The Happy Meal toys are sometimes a collaboration with another industry (movie based toys for example), or sometimes just an original McDonald’s creation. - McDonald’s had the genius idea of combining both of these things to create the American Idol MP3 Player Happy Meal toy.
- One of the creepiest clown related toys McDonald’s has ever put out is the Ronald McDonald mask, as part of the Happy Meal in 1974. 
- McDonald’s included a book about the importance of eating healthy as its Happy Meal toy. The book is titled “The Goat Who Ate Everything” and it was written by John Montgomery.

My grandfather took the 1980s McDonald's pumpkin trick or treat pail I had back when I was a kid, put a hole in the back, and wired it up to serve as an actual jack-o-lantern. He's long-gone now, but I still use that jack-o-lantern he made out of it.

What? Hating on the Halloween Buckets? Nah man, I loved those! I spent most of the year waiting to see what buckets we'd get come the best month of the year.

I love how simple my childhood was. Boys played house with the girls and the girls would play trucks with the boys. We didn't care who played with what when we were just having fun. Things feel complicated now or something lol

I actually liked the Halloween buckets with the lids on it. I liked the ghost one especially because it glowed in the dark! I thought it was cool!! 😊💕

I liked the Halloween buckets. Reading various comments, I’m guessing most of us knew that the buckets were the “toy” itself. It was a traditional Happy Meal toy for awhile. We still have a mid-90s blue watering can and while small, it can water smaller plants.

WHAT?! I loved the Halloween buckets! My favorite was the ghost because it was glow-in-the-dark. I kept mine it until my teens when it broke. ☹️

I actually liked the Halloween buckets.... I guess I liked it because it came with stickers, and as a child... I was OBSESSED WITH STICKERS!!!!

I was hoping you would mention the  Hand puppet.   But the ones I remember were just cheap plastic that the " small fries " in the happy meal box came in.  Dam for a wealthy company they are CHEAP !

I absolutely LOVED those buckets when I was a kid. Heck, I remember being disappointed one year when they had normal toys (still Halloween themed) instead of the buckets.

I remember that rediculous plastic Ronald "puppet". I thought it was supposed to be a bag to put your trash in and they forgotten to add the toy
