I have a rule where I must build a model before buying a new one - having had the Mistercraft IL-2M3 Sturmovik in "Operation Berlin" colours in the stash for a few years now, it's time to get this out of the stash!

But having now built it, I was not prepared for how many challenges it would present. Join me in this video as I build the 1/72 scale plastic model kit of the Mistercraft IL-2M3 Sturmovik in "Operation Berlin" colours (C-28) in a "Back to Basics" style, rounding off the video with a review at the end.

The "Back to Basics" series of plastic model kit builds focuses on completeing the models with simple skills and techniques that would be suitable for a beginner to learn new methods from, or simply as an entertaining video for those more experienced modellers.

I had the mistercraft sopwith 🐫 once, was the only kit i have ever returned to the store. Traded it for the revell boxed eduard 🐫, just no comparison really.

It's our polish cheapest models brand, they are repacking other brands/producers very old and bad kits, that's why we are calling them Mister Crap.

i got one of their UH1 helicopters parts don't fit bad instructions and not good parts lack of parts i stopped build it and put it on a shelf

Built a 117 nighthawk, do not recomend these kits require ALOT of sanding and filling, was prob one of my most dissapointing builds

I think the worst part of their kits are decals. Other than that they are acceptable considering the age.

i built the mister craft 1/72 Gloster Javelin it is a re boxing of the Frog kit and with bloody awful decals.

I bought a Mig-29 (ghost of Kiev) of the same brand. It has poor quality parts, raised panel lines and mediocre bubble canopy. I'm not buying mistercraft again.

Hobbycraft are peddling mistercraft kits at the moment, it breaks my heart that some kids going to get one their products as a Christmas present and be put off from the hobby for life 🫣
