Some additional points:

- If you have frequent guests using your wifi, set up a guest-wifi access point, most routers have this feature in the settings, make sure that the guest-wifi has not got access to your LAN, only give it access to the internet.

- If you use public wifi a lot, you can set up your own vpn using openvpn, you can either do this at home or by renting a server. I have my own vpn set up on my home network that I can connect to whenever I'm away from home. Its free and I know there is no logging. Some routers even now come with openvpn preinstalled.

- If you use a cloud storage to sync between computers, try looking into syncthing, its foss, does not rely on 3rd parties, easy to use, secure etc.

- If you don't need it, disable/block ipv6, it reduces your attack surface.

I have two routers

1. Secure use for online banking, shopping. I set up very hard wifi password then turn off wifi.

2. For gaming and surfing the net. I setup strong wifi password then setup a guest network.
