Shin vs Raoh

Raoh: Plot got condensed.

I know this is a different continuity from both the manga and the anime but you can really feel the friendship between Kenshiro and Shin here. Remember that numerous times Kenshiro said Shin was like a brother to him and Yuria said they were like brothers too. I really wish we could see more of their interactions when they were younger. Also Shin really had quite a bit of good in him actually and in the original anime we see Yuria was starting to influence him which is why he allowed her attendant Saki to not only live but go free.


We also need to remember that Shin Gaiden showed he had yearned for someone like his dead mother but his father took the picture he had of her away and Shin eventually started to develop feelings for Yuria similarly to how Toki and Raoh did after the loss of their mother. Let's not forget that Shin became obsessed with Yuria rather justifiably so too because she was so lovely, beautiful and similar to his mother and that Jagi manipulated the simple and childish Shin in one of his weakest and most vulnerable moments.


We all need to remember that there was a time when he loved Kenshiro and they were like blood brothers and that in the end Kenshiro loved him despite everything and burred him in honor of sharing the love for the same woman.

I never watched the Japanese version of the movie. This scene makes a ton of sense now.
I always suspected Raoh was the one who gave Shin those wounds. But even though there was no explanation to help confirm that for me, it didn't bother me so much. I just took it for what it was because it was just a cartoon. Cartoons never made sense back then so it was natural to have no desire to search for anything to make sense of the show.

But now seeing how it was meant to be written this scene makes a lot of sense. I never felt sorry for Shin and always wondered why Ken showed him respect even though he did what he did.
Now i understand. Very cool.
