That feeling when you realize Jagi was actually incredibly strong despite being a total punk in the main events of the series.

I love how even when he's young, Raoh is this mountain of a man..

Jagi was just happy to be in a flashback for once.

Raoh had a special portion of steroids and whey protein just for him.

Imagine adopting 4 sons and teaching them all the martial arts and wisdom you know.

Interesting to see Jagi treated respectfully. The guy is such a sadistic monster that seeing him calm and dedicated as him come off like a totally different character. What happened to make him to vicious? Did the nukes mess with his brain?

Jagi was a hard worker and he is still very strong but Kenshiro, Raoh and Toki are exceptional. The original line of Hokuto Sôke flows in their veins. He could not compete with his brothers after a few years of training. Let's not forget that he started his training after the other disciples. That's why his jealousy and his desire for strength made him a complex character. From the beginning, the fate of Jagi is very unfortunate. I have also read in a Japanese data book that he succeeded "the ravine test"(first test). Toki failed, he would have died without Raoh. Jagi had all the qualities to become a normal heir if the competition had been more equal. But it's precisely because he fell to hell that this character is really badass. He is not an official heir, but he didn't give up, he really believes it and I like his determination, in one way or another he is going to find a way to get recognition and respect. (among punks and bikers). You don't need to be as strong as Raoh or to be the best, stronger, to have a "Good life". You can succeed by living like a pariah. (In reality, the real jagi is the writer, buronson himself).

Would've been cool to see a spin off about them in the Dojo someday :)

Funny how Jagi seems to be the main interest in these sort of HNK flashbacks. We all pretty much agree he wasn't that bad in young age, I assume we'd all like to know how he lost it later on. Ciao!

I wish someone would put all of the Northstar movies or episodes on YT or adult swim or something, it's like a whole generation that knows nothing about Hokuto

Jagi soon realizes he's the family Yamcha.

Hokuto Brothers before the USA and the USSR turned the Cold War into WWIII

Part of what makes the brothers’ relationship all the more tragic is that they had the bad luck of being born in the same generation. Many characters hint that each one could have been a savior if born in different times. Raoh would have been a Hammurabi-esque sovereign who imposed strict codes of conduct, and Toki would have been a Christ figure who chose to spend his lifetime using Hokuto for healing. Ken can be interpreted as Kalki, the tenth avatar and the one who “takes care of all the trash”. Jagi doesn’t count, though. He was just a vile piece of shit.

Love this flashback! Love Jagi! Want the story of a young adult Ramon Kasumi (Ryuken) set in the 1940's and 50's! Fist of the Shuken(The Founder...this would be truly awesome..and probably tragic), Fist of the Blue Sky(Ken Kasumi/Yan Wang), FIST OF THE DRAGON(Ryuken), then Fist of the North Star (Kenshiro)!! It's long overdue!

Even jagi was badass before that fateful day, he should've been a better villain (or at lesst a one-sided hero)
