Thank you. I'm about to use the Bernzomatic torch now, my first torch job on a galvanized union.
This safety tip is good to know.

Very awesome safety tip. I store my torch in a domestic setting so I dont want it going off in my living room ffs. Very much appreciated. +1

if you read the manual, it says that after every use and detach the head, have to point to safe direction and burn the residue gas

I put a Bernzamatic torch on a Coleman tank that is about half full and it worked fine at first, but then I couldn't get it to ignite. I put the same torch on a different tank and it worked fine. I tried another torch on the first tank and it wouldn't ignite either. And when I unscrew the tank it makes a sound like opening a soda can. Like pressure is being released.

I"ve been using these torches for years with propane and map and never realized I was supposed to remove the torch from the canister when not in use.

Wow, thank you the safety tip. It kind of reminds me of the rattle snakes warning - don't pickup the head of rattlesnake with your bare hands. Why do you say "off-brand" when you were using a "Coleman" propane cylinder? I have heard of the Coleman brand from 30-years ago. I just purchased The Bernzomatic® Basic Torch Kit includes one Basic Torch and one 14.1oz Bernzomatic Propane cylinder. I plan to use it on a "super calcified" 3/32-in set screw that fastens the faucet handle to the brass stem assembly. I hope the heat method is successful! However, I am curious as to how much time this size propane cylinder can burn continuously?
