They have not produced pure mapp gas since 2008. The stuff they sell in a store now called “MAPP/PRO” is weak. It burns 100° hotter than propane. Propane 3600°
Mapp/Pro 3700° discontinued Mapp 5300°

That’s only MAPP Pro. Not a LOT hotter. Only 100-150

Map PRO is not MAPP gas. MAPP gas hasn’t been produced since 2008. Map Pro burns at 3730*. Propane burns at 3600*. That isn’t what I’d refer to as “a whole lot hotter” it’s hotter, I’ll agree to that. But it isn’t 3x the price of propane hotter, nor is your propane rated torch head in any imminent danger from using it should you have more dollars than sense. Or a company charge account, as the case may be.

-Quick Tip for uninformed uploader-

Not MAPP gas...not "a lot hotter."
You got MAP/PRO...so...a slight bit hotter.
The MAPP you are thinking you have but don't actually has been discontinued a generation ago.
