Anyone complaining about him using windows, get off your glass pedestal. Is it hard to grasp that the people looking up a tutorial like this are probably using Windows and looking to learn enough to make the switch? It’s extremely useful that he’s going about it with windows being the host software.

I especially love how you explained the basics of networking. I'm using the internet for 20+ years and up until now I never truly understood how it all actually works. Thanks!

Just a quick note to save newer viewers of this video a lot of heartache. The instructor is using an older version of Ubuntu (15) which, by default comes with the Unity desktop. Newer installs of Ubuntu (I'm using 19 but 18 is the same) do NOT come with the Unity Desktop, but instead comes with Gnome only. So your dock won't look the same and while you'll be able to install the Unity Tweak Tool, it will not work. Once they get into the meat of the Linux system (i.e. the CLI), you'll be OK. Just all these configs and things up front might leave you a little bit frustrated.

Your video is spot on. I'm not exactly a new Linux user (dabbled since 2006 with Ubuntu, became serious in 2013 with Fedora, been with Arch Linux for about six months now), but I enjoyed this video and sat through it because I still learned a lot of stuff. No getting around the fact that there are so many different ways to do one task under Linux that are neither right or wrong. My only gripe is the Ubuntu part. It's not your fault Canonical is Canonical and Ubuntu changed over the years nor is the de-facto. Keep up the great work! I taught myself by reading man pages and re-writing my own as I went and learned stuff. I've learned a LOT from the Fedora community and Arch Linux community myself. Just installing Arch Linux blew away a LOT of confusion for me. Again, thanks for the video!
