"greatest, best, etc" are subjectiv. Fact is that there are a lot of great climbers in a particular niche, like bigwall, sport, trad, etc. But is there like an overall master? Are there famous climbers that push our sport in modern society? In my opinion Adam Ondra is that kind of climber, because he can do all sorts of climbing, techniques and styles. Sport, trad, multipitch, boulder, bigwall... he climbs cracks, overhangs, slabs, competitions, boulders... and not just any climb but the hardest there are! He is one of the few sportclimbers that do care about an onsight or flash... he understood and mastered the importance of "style" in climbing. He bolted routes modern and traditional ones. There are multiple shortmovies, channels, etc about his climbing. So ambitious and demanding on himself, but totally chilled and happy at the same time, a great embodiment for climbing!

"Best climbers" means everybody. You should consider alpinists as well as rock specialists. Alpinists have skills in technical ice and mountaineering as well as rock wall climbing. How many of these rock wall guys rate highly in ice climbing, mountaineering, and high altitude climbing?

Gullich, Sharma, Lynn Hill, Ondra and Janja Garnbret the most modern climbing imho. Not the best climbers in the hystory but the most iconic climbers of the modern climbing.
