One thing I don't understand is why don't the MCs ever sue the company with proof of workplace harassment? I know there's a stigma in Japan, but defamation is also a pretty big charge. If not the company, atleast Kuwase and Koki's senior colleague should have been folded.

I've heard it said failure can be the biggest instructor in life, and, while true, some forms of failure carry with it the biggest stigmata in life as well. There's also a big difference between failure and being blamed wrongly, which happened to Koki because the supervisor would blame others for his mistakes until it came full circle back to him. Kuwase found this out, and couldn't miss the chance to rub it in...a big mistake. Rei saw a golden opportunity that no one else did, in more ways than one--professionally and personally. After all, even if so, failure isn't the worst thing that can happen. Ostracization for an imperfection, real or imagined, is worse; especially in youth, failure, at least, can be learned from. The other, though, can't...and leads to far worse things later on.

What happened to Kuwase afterwards? Unable to move on from being rejected by Rei and the rest of his former classmates, he made a huge mistake in his own company and tried to cover it up by pinning it all on a certain shy and nerdy employee. He didn't consider that the nerdy employee was actually the grandson of the chairman of the company. But the fact that he was desperate to blame someone else raised a red flag and then an internal investigation was carried out. Kuwase's behavior then came out to light: he had a history of not doing anything, dumping workload on younger employees while taking extensive breaks and leaving early for no reason, all while putting up an act for the upper managers. Kuwase was forced to resign as a result and couldn't get a new job in the same industry. He now works part time jobs just to get by.
As for Karui? They indeed exposed all of his lies and use of others just to kiss up to the upper managers while he dumped his workload on others and pinned the blame of his mistakes. He was then sent to work in a branch office in the countryside, but he didn't last long there. Unable to put up with his ultra strict bosses, he then quit. He returned to his hometown to look for a new job in the same industry, but the rumors spread like fire, and was unable to get a new job like that. He now has to work part time jobs.

Fate of Kuwase

After the incident from the Reunion, some old classmates founded out his true nature which led the report to his Company. Department Manager and The CEO investigate the incident months ago, they founded out that Kuwase tampering & sabotages the different contracts made from Koki to failed the Clients meetings which make him the perpetrator in order to terminated him from jealousy. Kuwase was brought into the Office, he denied make more excuses thinking he's not his fault, but the CEO know everything and was fired from the Company. Rumour spread that many company never hired him and gave up. His family know about this and disowning him. He lived in the dilapidated apartment & work minimal jobs to pay the debts.
