When I was 17 years old and in my junior year of high school, I was catfished on Instagram. There was somebody posing as a girl who went to a school in the same school district as me and they stalked me. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life.

I don’t understand why people think it’s OK to pretend to be someone that they’re not in order to stalk, harass or manipulate someone else. I wish there were stricter laws in place against catfishing.

I am Sonic the Hedgehog's number one fan and I ran into someone named Hannah Montey on Facebook who was incredibly rude in a Sonic Group Chat that I winded up blocking her out of the group.

I saw her comment on one of my posts spoiling a surprise that happened in Sonic Movie 2 and I blocked her even though I was already planning too.

She literally came back a week later with a fake account spoiling the post credits scene of the same movie. I blocked her again.

A month later she came back with another fake account this time actually turning to two of my favorite Sonic voice actors and telling them that I thought that they sucked and that I hated them and she sent me screenshots of the conversation to rub it in my face.

I blocked her again.

Thankfully I even found out that it was just trolls pretending to be my favorite Sonic voice actors.

She went towards my friends on the internet and other Sonic groups trying to both have them turn against me and have me kicked out. So my friends will tell me.

My internet friends even showed me screenshots the day before my birthday that she made up a We Hate Andrea Smeelie fan club cuz she's evil! She took my profile picture at the time and crossed my friend's face in the picture and put down words calling me a bitch, a sadist, a toxic Sonic fan, and a cunt.

She found me in my own Sonic group as another fake account the next day and messaged me saying that it was a funny coincidence that it happened to be my birthday and that she did three revenges on me. She spoiled Sonic Movie 2, she turned my favorite voice actors against me, and now she sent me this picture of me that happened to be one of my old pictures drawing me as a Nazi devil with a swatiska sign on my forehead and calling me a cunt again.

She said goodbye dumbass and that she hoped that I liked it.

I blocked her again.

The thing here was I thought I had things set to private but I always felt like she will find a way to find me and stalk through my Facebook page stealing my pictures and coming back at me.

I even changed my password recently so hopefully she has finally left me alone finally.

I never once had any kind of relationship with her but my Mom and I are pretty convinced that someone is pretending to be her especially since she had said before that she is from Egypt.

I don't know if that actually counts as catfishing or not since I've never been in a relationship but it is someone pretending to be someone to come after me a Sonic fan so it counts. :(

She even had spread rumors about me saying that I want Sonic fans to kill themselves because they love Sonic SatAM and the character, Sally. :(

Everyone has had my back but man she drove me nuts and I hope that no one else has to suffer through her like I did. :(
