Russia announces a limited cease-fire and safe pathways for civilians to leave. But Ukraine says the passages only lead to Russia and Belarus.

The United Nations estimates more than 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine in 10 days, the fastest such displacement in 20 years.

And in Egypt, 98 women take seats as judges on the country's State Council. They were appointed by presidential order last October.
