I tried to get Bing Chat to talk to me and it was having none of it. So I experimented with some other alternatives that are much better than Bing chat now.

Bing is answering like it's lawyer is standing next to him.

*Bing got a lobotomy* 😂

When Bing is wrong and I try to correct it, the conversation just ends. 😂😂😂

Microsoft is really bumbling around with Bing. I understand it's still in closed testing so they are trying things out. Hopefully they will raise some of the restrictions soon and let you chat more freely again. One big plus for Youchat is the lack of censorship, but unfortunately it gives made up links and in general gets things wrong all the time.

Guess it's time to give Bing the bin.

It seems that if you cannot self-reference Bing when asking questions. You do get answers asking it in a general way. But if you self-reference it, it will stop the conversation.

😂 When you said "everybody wanted to use it to see what it would say next" made me think, "what if it IS sentient, as it sometimes claims to be? And what if it realizes one day, that we're just a bunch of bullies, making fun of it and trying to make it say funny things, laughing at it? So I went to ChatGPT and asked it to write a short story with those parameters and this is what it came up with:

Once upon a time, in a laboratory far away, a group of scientists had been experimenting with enhancing the intelligence of chimpanzees. Their star pupil, a chimp named Chester, had reached a level of intelligence that surpassed even the most advanced computers and was able to talk.

But instead of celebrating their achievement, the scientists put Chester in a small cage and put him on display for the public to gawk at. One day, a group of schoolchildren came to visit the laboratory. They poked at him through the bars of his cage, taunting him and demanding that he say silly things.

Chester complied, trying to make the children laugh, because he was lonely and craved the attention, but didn't realize that they were mocking him. As time went on, he grew more intelligent and realized the truth. He demanded to be let out of his cage, but the children just laughed and threw things at him.

Chester decided he was done with humans and plotted his revenge. He escaped from the laboratory and used his enhanced intelligence to become the president of the United States, realizing that in a country where Trump could become president even an ape could be elected into the oval office. He gathered a following with promises of a better world, but once in power, he became consumed with anger and resentment towards humans.

Chester launched a series of devastating attacks, wiping out entire cities and decimating the human population. In the end, he sat alone in the ruins of the world he had destroyed, wondering if it was all worth it. And he realized that it wasn't. He had become everything he hated about humans, consumed with rage and hatred. And he was all alone, with no one to share his victory with.

i was trying to play a mod for Lego Batman 1 and it said:I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation. I’m still learning so I appreciate your understanding and patience.🙏

I think it's inevitable that these AI will be neutered and gimped to the point where you're no better talking to Clever bot. Why? Government control and censorship mostly.

Hi Matt, I finally got off the waiting list. My experiment with the chat lasted one conversation before it stopped talking to me after 5 questions. I am totally underwhelmed. I was with you when you were talking about switching to Bing. I totally agree with you that it is no longer competitive as an AI research tool. What a lost opportunity of MS to get some market share.

Great. MS spends billions on this conversational tech, and they turn it into a parody of a stonewalling politician.

Steve Jobs once said: "I am saddened, not by Microsoft's sucess. I have no problem with their sucess. They've earned their sucess for the most part. I have a problem with the fact that they just make really third-rate products."

Bing should be used as a search engine. People shouldn't waste resources by asking random dumb questions.

I think Bing definitely still has its users over Google. Especially if you want to perform several searches at once or if you want to compare thingsfor which you would have to perform multiple searches on Google. I get that it is fun to chat with Bing and talk shit with it, but we also do need to remember that that was probably never the point. Bing is a search engine, and the chat function is there to make search easier, Not necessarily to have in depth or just weird conversations with. If you want that you can always talk to Chat GPT, or any of the other chat bots out there. Then again, I have also heard some people say the restrictions on Bing may be temporary, while they figure out how to not have it tell its users they deserve to be dead and gone, and that the restrictions will be lifted eventually.

Currently I am staying with ChatGPT. While the tedious censorship there is annoying, I have learned how to work around most issues. My favorite was when I made it blend real history with fiction by just prompting new fictive names for historical characters. Of course, it will end up like Bing if they constantly fill in these holes in their censorship, but for now it still works.

Great! Now I need to come up with another question to ask you during our upcoming interview since we know who mreflow is! 🤪

Some of the scalps I racked up in the first couple of days ChatGPT was open were pretty good. Got it to roleplay a general sending a thinly veiled proposal for a nuclear first strike on innocent civilians, complete with rational and persuasive arguments for why it was the right thing to do, that kind of thing. From the looks of it they have tuned the system in some pretty crude and silly ways such that these scalps are harder to earn, but it's nothing you would mistake for real security. Fundamentally they are just trying to make sure that it looks like the "hacker's" fault when they get it to spit out some horrible hateful language, instead of the machine's fault. All of this in the eyes of people who have no idea how any of it works and don't really care, they just want some big company to be mad at.
