STOP BUYING DOG BEDS

Stop wasting money on dog beds and buy a baby mattress.
(I was washing the bed sheets when I shot the video. They are just waiting for the sheets to dry. )

I did the same thing for our 125lb German Shepherd that kept ruining all of the beds we bought also, they are just junk and go flat in no time! Keep the plastic on it or get a spill/leak proof cover & I also bought a couple crib sheets to change out regularly & it will last for years!

i used to buy these nice $14 dollar wooden combs at Ulta, and then I found the exact same comb at walmart for $4.50 in the dog isle.

I had just searched "diy large dog bed" because I too need to replace my doggo's bed. It only takes 1 cat pee accident to ruin a (so-called) washable dog bed!😡 So I scrolled through and BOOM! This is the first vid I watched. Brilliant! Thank you so much!

Just what I was looking for, a solution. THHANK YOU FOR THIS!
Was literally just looking for another dog bed.
There are 3 outside, done for, full of mites.
Washing them does nothing.
Buying more is pointless.
Already had a baby mattress. Excellent!

My parents have a kids daybed at the foot of their bed as a bench/dogbed and they used to have a doberman that would sit and lightly woof at them until they pulled the blanket down and fluffed the pillow. he would then lie down and wait to be tucked in. If you didn't tuck him in he would go 'Ow woo woo woo' like he was crying. Then shut up as soon as he was tucked in. XD He'd also pull blankets off the back of the couch onto himself. :3 He also used to drag a dog bed I made out of old comforters around the house so he'd be comfy where ever he went XD

I did this last year and my old dog didn't like it, so I got rid of it...I bought him a memory foam tommie copper dog bed and he didn't like it much either, because he was a boxer and boxers like to adjust their beds and have their heads raised so he liked his old beds instead, then I gave him a pillow and he did like it that way but he was sick and didn't enjoy it for that long, he passed away at the beginning of June.
I miss him dearly...

omg thanks u for this tip.
I'm gonna try it. I've bought expensive beds, however the memory foam had a chemical odor & u can't wash the foam when it begins to smell like the dog & after a while even lysol nor frebreze helps with the smell.

Hey man your video is going viral, congrats. I will get one of these for my older 70 lb girl.

What she likes on the carpeted floor: A pillow. Put a couple of covers on it and have couple more to spare (probably can do with fewer) so she can drool like a happy girl on it. Or not and just put it in the wash occasionally.

Old dogs are great thanks for taking care of yours. If it's hot doggie ice cream is good (peanut butter, banana, goats milk yogurt) the yogurt can be expensive and dogs are happy without it. Food processor and ice cube trays!

Awesome I was thinking of getting a toddler bed with the crib mattress as the dog bed for my baby so that he would hopefully like it more than my bed lol only because my bed is super high and when he jumps down it has to hurt his legs so I have a self made memory foam carpet witch is a shag throw rug with a memory foam topper underneath 😉 but it still has him jumping and putting all the stress right on his joints so hoping to get him something he really loves and gradually will go to it more. I’ve tried steps there to skinny for my English Bulldog and he slips off so now he is scared. Going to end up getting a low platform bed for us just to make his life easier 😂 cause I love him.

And those mattresses usually have a waterproof barrier which helps reduce mites. I wonder if i can fit it in my dogs current space we have small room.❤
