The Splatoon 3 meta has been stagnant for quite some time now, but with recent innovations I believe we're nearing the end for this one.

With how much use Snipewritter 5H has had in competitive, I'm 99% sure Nintendo is gonna at least do something to nerf it in the next patch since they said the next patch is gonna be dedicated to nerfing stronger weapons.

I do find it kind of funny how when certain weapons came out, they were considered weak or their kits weren't that special, then later on they are considered really good weapons, even if their buffs were just small improvements.

Honestly I’m fine with the meta because even though we’ve had rough points it seems to be in a good spot where, for once, the splatoon meta in the endgame doesn’t revolve around spamming or using op specials and is in a place that is fun for all players.

7:05 I said from the start that the location kit of wellstring just makes more sense than the first kit. People don't understand that knowing where the enemies are can help you chip enemies from behind walls, like explo.

This game lit my passion for Splatoon back, especially since they brought back Krak-on-Roller which was my favorite weapon in SP1, even other oddball weapons were really fun for me like the Tentabrellas, Painbrush Nouveau, Wellstring V.

This game has a lot of problems, but man it's been hype.

I still love how free we kinda are to pick weapons and how we can see you don't always need cooler to play the game I'm enjoying the meta and hopefully it get better with the patch

I'll admit, hearing that a rushdown and coolerless comp got 3rd place in an Area Cup and Tetra being in the second place team does give me hope for more diversity in the meta. But they both still lost, and given the meta comp is just filled with strong or broken weapons and insane paint support, and the fact that, like you said, those strats tried and failed in Crab Meta because the Crab comps were just too good, makes me believe that these rushdown strats will just be a phase, as much as I'd love to see them stay. Hopefully the next patch makes the right nerfs to finally make the meta not as stale and different strats can thrive. If not, then I don't have that much hope for the future of the meta.

comp splatoon 3 is in a really fun spot right now and i really enjoy it as a viewer since new stuff is always popping up!

i really hope the upcoming patch will keep this dynamic and allow for more options, especially in backlines…

I am perfectly happy in this meta. I think what people don't realize is there will always be a meta. Something will always be overpowered. So it's better to just enjoy HEALTHY things like stamper, cooler, and edit being OP for some examples. I think too many people are just pissed off at any meta existing, when it's virtually impossible for it not to. I'm happy in this meta because things like cooler enable so so many more different weapon picks and genuinely strengthens the off-meta really well. Basically everything is at least somewhat viable, and I credit that mostly to cooler. Supportive meta is PEAK. IMO the only four things in pretty high need of toning back are pencil, (mostly just so other support weapons are more viable lmao), .52 gal, killer wail, and zooka.

I enjoy watching this meta personally. There's a lot of independent strong weapons that can hold their own. The only problems i have with it is zooka's startup and pencil being too good,

Remember when we all thought snipewriter would never be good and now it's the best weapon, well now wellstringer somehow is now good even though we thought it would be bad and that's just really funny to me

I want to point out that at 5:47 that's the Wiper Deco kit. I think this shows that there's potential for this kit's viability despite what's being said.

It always makes me really happy to see Mini splattling being good and seeing you talk about it so highly is nice too, Ive always loved Mini, and i think its other kit (not zink) is a lot stronger than people may realize, I know stamp isnt the best special competitively, but burst bomb on it makes a really strong and fast moving splattling that with a strong paint output could work in like, zones for example. I think even with stamp it could be a really strong aggressive fighter in the hands of someone dedicated to making it work.

One mention of Wiper during the segment talking about counter strats and I got VERY excited as a Wiper main. I really hope to see it come back into the meta after having to put up with it being a mid-tier weapon for a long time.
