People could afford to eat better if they were not drowning in student load debt and medical bills.

So how is eating better going to help someone's doctor Bill if they were hit by a car ?

It's this simple: Anyone who says something along the lines of "it needs some work" or anything that basically means "don't get sick", is either purposefully trying to misguide you and derail the debate. Or they actually have no clue what they are talking about. This is not a complicated riddle to solve, if you are actually trying to solve it properly. Because all the nations in the entire western world has already cracked the nut and found their own individual stable solutions, that all have proven they work and are stable, for decades. You can't put band aid on cancer, and the cancer in your system is the private for profit model. You can't make an "adjustment" to get around a problem, when that problem is the very core, the spine that the entire industry is build upon.
This is how you do it: You send a 2 year(or whatever number of years you need) notice to the entire industry and tell it like it is. Your entire business foundation will in X number of years, be illegal. Thousands will lose their jobs, but 45, 000 dead each year because of a failed business model is a heck of a lot worse.

Our corporate owned government allows private insurance company monopolies and pharmaceutical price-gouging.

Thanks for explaining this so clearly. It never made sense to me even when I lived in the US. Try the Dutch system, imperfect but much better than what you have. Greets from Holland

my health care insurance in the philippines is only 8 dollars a month. and for teeth, it only cost 7 dollars a tooth to fix a cavity. a MRI cost 100 dollars, ooh and the hospitals give you the right treatment the first time, unlike in the US, here try this cream for 400 dollars and if thet dont work, come back again and pay for more, in PH they are not allowed to milk the insurance.

My daughter went to the ER because her right arm and leg went numb and she almost blacked out. They tested her for hours and then had her transported by ambulance to a Hospital 50 miles away. At the end of the three day ordeal they found out her calcium and magnesium was low.
Thousands of dollars for a mineral deficiency. The insurance company should file a lawsuit.

How much does an X ray cost in the US without insurance?

Being charged $20, 000 for an ambulance ride to the hospital is outrageous

1:18 Then why there aren't hospitals using the cheap ones, being more competitive? There's the problem

Lol video ended without an actual solution. Eat better? Rly? Still doesn't reduce the cost of cancer, or an accident at work.
Universal healthcare CNN, that was the logical conclusion there after comparing the US to all those other countries, what do they do that we don't? Universal healthcare, eating better is nice, still doesn't help the overall situation smh.

could use "some" work? How about a total overhaul. Our healthcare system is just bad.

We need single payer, the patient. Not the govt, not insurance companies, not companies, just the patient pays. Each citizen should have a health account which can receive subsidies/payments from companies, insurance companies, their employees or the govt as well as their own contributions. From this account, the patient makes all payments, knowing the cost upfront, maybe something like an amazon model, where there is free market competition, ratings and transparent pricing. Not the predatory pricing model we have now where you may get a bill months later since the patient never knows how much anything costs. Bring the free market back to healthcare and watch costs drop, quality improve, and access increase. This is not complex or difficult. We can do this now.

Why is it so expensive? Because government is involved... anything they touch skyrockets the price. Think housing, education, and insurance.

Great point, "better health begins with all of us". To that point, it would be awesome if we didn't have to worry about the foods we eat causing cancer. Why do we allow companies to manufactures foods and beverages with carcinogens?!

There is no answer other than single payer
